we know someone that has a common law wife that is threatening to report abuse to the athorities if he were to leave the relationship. (There has been no abuse other from her). Can anyone offer any suggestions?

He can leave...and should repert the abuse to the authorites or seek counseling and they will no doubt have all the info he would need.
