God: Great God/Bad Father!!!

Alright here is something we have all heard all of our lives, "If you do not live your life according to God's rules you will live for eturnity in hell"
My asertation is this, how can an All Loving Father (God is LOVE) punish his children for eturnity for not following his rules?!? I am not an All Loving father and I could NEVER punish my children FOREVER for anything, so how can God unless he truely is a BAD FATHER?
If we are not punished forever then the bible must be a lie or there has been a conspiracy to mistranslate the Bible since 1611. And if it is a mistranslation what else has been mistranslated? Is there billions of people that have their entire life based on a lie?!?
Oh well I just had to post this to see what others would think so here it is, what do you think?!?

well ur info is wrong u will not burn in eternal hell, my chistian belief and according to our priest, god gave homans free will and he said that everyone will be judge according to his own actions. if u commited murder and lived ur life like a thug than u are goin to be punished cz u didn't follow god teaching (not rules) and u hurt ur brother, but god also takes in consideration the environment u were raised in, if u were born in a criminal community and ur parents were thugs, u didn't have any religious teaching and u went on to become a criminal of course god will take that in consideration. live ur life the way u want but always listen to ur conscience cz gd speaks to u through it. if u think what ur doing is right thatn it is right and if u think that what ur doing is wrong then it is wrong.
