Tried 'Sound Conditioners' or 'White Noise Machines'?

Do you use a sound conditioner? I got hooked on them nearly 20 years ago when I had noisy roomates. I bought an alarm clock that had a radio function and a 'white noise' function which played things like the sound of waves or streams. I have been hoked on them ever since. It drives my family crazy. Do you use them or have to deal with someone who does?

I have used them, I sometimes still do. I have one of those "scentstories" machines and that puts out a nice hum that I've been using now, it finishs it's thing in 2 & a half hrs. I have in the past used fans to make a white noise & a breeze - or a window unit air conditioner - but I do live in Texas after all!

Wow, this is interesting. I must confess I haven't heard of this before. If I want sound of waves or streams for instance, I will just play such tracks over my PC or phone.

I have a fan, I guess it is a little like that. I only use it in the summer. I am used to the people next door being loud.
