storms in the philippines

my social studies teacher asked us to answer: why do storms and typhoons always hit our country, the philippines?

i'm really unsure as to how the weather systems can be a topic for social studies...but here goes. its location on the globe makes the philippines vulnerable to typhoons and storms.

Hi.. Storms around the world usually happen when 2 wind blows from 2 different directions and meet each other, they produce storms.
