I've seen this advertised on soom of the news channels and I was wondering what some of you thought about something they can't prove or even make a true statement about, the fact that, Jesus was nrver married or had any girlfriends is in my book just plain wrong. Any one agree?

right, what difference would it make if he were married. of course having children as well. he was a great teacher and his words were true. i've always opted to watch documenteries on jesus and the bible. they intrest me a lot because they don't give a one sided opinion most of the time. they state the facts they have found and let the viewers decide. thats how religion should be. not all fancied up like some religions do it. telling the truth of what we know and what makes sense is the only way to get people to really believe in it. the only problem i see if the child made it to adulthood to create a child and if the line still exsist the whole divinci code thing would be somewhat true...well, the starting idea of it...since i didn't watch the movie or read the book, i just know the theory about the real "holly grail" thing. i think it would ne natural for jesus to want to take on a wife, to seek the love and effection of another and to show that it is okay. he was strong in the sactity of marriage and preached about it as well. how can you preach when you don't live it as well?

I really believe that if Jesus was married it would have been in the bible. Because marriage is a very imporatant issue. Jesus taught a lot of things and if He were married He would have taught a lot more on marriage. No they wouldn't have left an imporant message out like that. People just don't want to believe the bible and just tries and makes stuff up to confuss other people. Jesus was not married or the bible would have stated it.

He might have been married, and the apostles just didn't feel it was relevant to write about as far as his teachings. Just a thought. If he was married, why would that change his message to us? Or how would that make him less the son of God? I am not trying to defend this position, just trying to understand why people are so upset with the whole concept that he may have been married. As far as the tomb discovery, I think they are really reaching to get to their conclusions. Possibility, maybe. Proof, I don't think so much.
