Ever been on a ship ? Do you get sea sickness ?
I've only been on a short 2 hours cruise twice. Once it was a party in malaysia and once a evening cruise in goa. but that wasn't like being on the 'high seas' !! I'm going in May on the Star Cruise for 3 nights - i'm excited and kinda nervous - what if i get sea sickness ? how do i know if i would ? Have you been on one ? do share your experience.. i hear they are absolutely beautiful.

Well first of all, I hope you enjoy your cruise! Longest I have ever been on a ship is 16 hours between Helsinki and Stockholm, and I hated it! To tell you the truth, I am not a fan of sailing, because I do get horribly sea-sick, but that doesn't mean that you will too. I have tried all the remedies like the wrist bands, and eating dry biscuits, but frankly none of them work for me:-(( All I can do is take the very strongest pills from the Doctor, which make me lie down and sleep. And as soon as they wear off after 8 hourso r so, I wake up feeling nauseous, and my partner gives me another one, so I sleep until the boat stops!!!
I know there are wonderful things on ships nowadays - bars and restaurants, and cabarets etc., and they can be great fun for everyne but the sicly minority like me! I hope you will be fine!

i had been in ship rides many times. but i don't totally call it a cruise but a travel. i need to go from one city to another by a ship. it takes me three days to get from that particular place to another.and it wasn't that fun. so i don't see it as a cruise. hehe.
anyway, my boyfriend and i have talked about getting on a finland cruise sometime. not sure when yet. but soon, we will! and i am excited. so so excited!

I'm more of a landlubber, I do not like boats and when I'm going somewhere I want to get there QUICK! The thought of going on a cruise fills me with both boredom and dread! I only went on a cruise once, well not so much a cruise but a crossing, it was four hours, the sea was rough, watching everyone on the boat throwing up and looking rather green around the gills wasn't my idea of fun. I know boats are much better designed nowadays but it still doesn't endear to the idea of spending more than a day on one.

I have never been on a cruise nor have I ever been on a ship. I am afraid of water. There is no way, I would go on a cruise. I would be terrified. I know I would have an anxiety attack and have to be sadated for the whole trip. If someone told me that I had to go on a cruise, I would run and hide. LOL Fear brings out the evil side of me.

Well I've been on several cruises from 4 dayers on up to 7 dayers. Personall I prefer the 7 only because for the small difference in price it is much better. The 4 dayer one they tried to cram all the things in a 7 down into 4.
I didn't used to get sea sick but after some problems with my ears I have occassionly. Just so you know if you do go to the Purser's desk. They will give you the over the counter medicine for it. Do not pay for it in the gift shoppe. They will just hand it to up at the Purser's desk for free.
Cruises are great though. They really are. You can do anything or nothing on them. I love the fact that I can try different foods at the meals and if I don't like it I can get something else, they don't charge extra or anything. The food is all built in. Now some newer ships will have extra dining rooms that cost extra or such but most it's all built in. You have food available 24/7 really and it's really easy to gain weight on board but the food is excellent. The ports are fantastic, not sure which ones you are going to but they are beautiful.
I think you'll enjoy the cruise. Just remember to have lots of fun :)

I went on a 7-day cruise for my honeymoon and it was wonderful!! I thought I might get sick but didn't have a problem, on the bigger ships you don't even feel the movement of the boat. I loved the all-you-can eat food..all day, every day!! And free room-service...it doesn't get any better them that!!
