call center opinion!

hi! i've been working for a call center for more than a year now. I have adjusted to the work shift because we only have one shift unlike other call centers where they change shift every month! I am even planning to resign and settle for a job with less pay but very rewarding. At first I really thought that working for a call center isn't that bad because everyone was venturing into one, so I kind of a tried it and joined the band wagon. I enjoyed it for several months but not when I started feeling so much pain on my back aside from gaining weight. Who wouldn't? You just sit there face the monitor, talk to customers or respondents for eight hours. I have one co-worker that lost 40% of his hearing for this kind of job, even worse is that it's not even covered by our insurance! There are times when respondents would bang the phone or mock you...there are times when they are too tired of it they put on their answering machine because we usually start calling at by 5:00 pm USA time or just hear you say hello!? Others would say that they are on the National Do Not Call List... I'm sorry to tell you that the NDNC list only applies to telemarketing companies and not research companies. I am working for a market research company. We do survey. If only I can find a job that suits me I would gladly resign. I just hope that Americans would sign in a petition that a market research company be included in the NDNC list law. Selfish, cruel and unrighteous but that's what I exactly feel right now. Have you ever called by someone from a market research company? or telemarketers? Tell me how feel about it?

i believe so... it's just the same. we do surveys for a certain brand. it's like selling things indirectly to consumers.
