hello, I am 30 weeks pregnant with twins. I was wondering what you all have heard about baby turning. Both my babies are transverse and had been since I had my first ultra sound at 14 weeks. My docter said even if baby A turns head down, I would still have c-section. I am so scared of surgery, But I don't want my babies to get hurt in any way. But i heard some docters turn the second baby. Have you heard of this? and what do you think? I really want a normal birth for them. I am getting so close, I worry so much.thanks in advance

don't worry, my aunt gave birth to triplet normally. maybe you should consult your doctor and tell her that you want to as much as possible to give normal birth. sometimes doctors just want to make their job easier.

It is possible to turn your baby and I think this is done after delivering the first baby. However it is your doctor who should decide whether this is safe and worth trying out. You need to trust his judgement and opinion on this. A c-section is a major surgery, but most docs have done plenty and should be safe especially if it is needed. So whatever happens, let your doc make the right decision, dont worry about it and enjoy your twins!! Its a blessing to have babies and however they come out they are still soooooo precious and cute!

I'm sorry- I have to disagree with the advice to blindly trust your doctor. You must do your own research, weigh your options and decide what's best for you & your babies. Some doctors are very quick to section for many reasons other than what's best for mom & babies. If Baby A gets into position, it's very likely that Baby B will also get into position after the first is born- there's more room to do so. A chiropractor who specializes in pregnancy may be able to do some adjustments that will help turn the babies. Visualization may help. Laying in a feet up, head down position may help. And seeing a midwife who's experienced in twin births may help.

As has been mentioned, turning babies is done all the time, but with twins it becomes more difficult because of lack of room. I went into labour with my twins but one had his legs wide open and they couldn't move them - so I had to have a C-Section. But both were healthy so that is all that mattered. I won't lie to you - it takes longer to get over a C-section than a normal delivery - but it's worth it. You will need to do physio and breathing and exercises because after all it is major surgery but you will get through it. (truthfully I can't uinderstand why women choose to have a C section because they think it will be an easier birth! It takes weeks or months to recover! Trust your doctor. Make sure they know that you only want a C-section if absolutely necessary. Good luck.

Try to stop worrying and trust your doctor. He has probably delivered hundreds of babies and knows just the right thing to do in each situation. Babies have been turned by doctors, although in the case of twins, it is a little more difficult because of lack of space in there. Babies sometimes turn themselves, expecially during the last month of pregnancy. Worrying about it, isn't good for the babies either so try to get your mind on something else, like, how adorable they are going to be, and how much you are going to enjoy them once they arrive. I've known a lot of women who have had C-sections and they recover quickly. They are more common than you think. I hope you have a wonderful birthing experience and that soon you will be writing discussions about your perfect babies.

Hello. My twins were the same way, and if baby a had turned head down, I was going to deliver them "normal". My doctor said once the first baby is out, there is alot more room to turn the second baby. However, my water broke at 35 1/2 weeks and baby A hadnt turned so it was c-section for me. They were born 2 minutes apart, and healthy. Don't worry. Your 30 weeks and thats great that you made it so far. Im sure they will be fine no matter how you deliver, and then the fun really starts! Good Luck!

There are lots of cases like you have, i heard here in the Philippines if they have a problem like that they go to a person who knows how to turn the babies so they could have a normal delivery but in your case , i think that is even harder being having twins.Your doctor knows best, so stop worrying so much, it is not good for you and for the twins.Be happy that you are having twins, babies are blessings and just pray for it and am sure god will provide.I am happy for you.Good luck and god bless you and the twins.

When I was pregnant for twins, one was not positioned right. I was already in the hospital on complete bed rest, when my water broke. They took me immediately to have a xray done to see how the babies were positioned. FOrtunately they were both in heading out the right way. Otherwise I would have needed a c-section, but they told me that I would have been flown via helicopter to the next state. That hospital had the best neonatal care available. My DIL actually had 2 c-sections. The first because our little guy was breech. THey set a date for the surgery and about a week before the date, she went into labor. By the time she reached the hospital, his little leg was appearing. They rushed her into surgery. He was born without complications. The second, due to the fact that she was breech too! She made it to her scheduled date. Don't worry about the surgery. You will do just fine. You will be able to see the little charmers once they are born. Years ago you would knocked out completely and woke in the recovery room.

I have not had twins, but have had 3 c sections. My mum had twin boys and everything was fine with the birth even though one of them was breach. With my first baby, her position was all wrong, head under my ribs, arms stretched out, and her legs were almost in a frog position. The dr tried to turn her a few times, but as I lay in bed in the evening, she turned straight back to how she felt comfortable. The c-sections are not all that bad. There is a little discomfort, but its all over so quickly. I can understand you wanting to have a normal birth, but it is best to listen to the dr's as they want to keep you and your babies healthy. All the best for you. Please let us know when they arrive.
