Microbiology had a field day with money. There are thousands of bacteria living on those bills. It makes since look where it's kept cookie jars, purses, billfolds, pockets, mattress, shirt pockets, jars, safe , and freezer at least maybe the freezer will kill the bacteria. Did I miss any?

As children, our parents had made us aware of this fact. Money passes through the hands of people from all walks of life and goes through life without any rule as to how to keep them and deal with them. So they collect all sorts of dirt and comes along with them bacteria and viruses and other sources of illness you can think of. This is the reason why parents will time and again, remind their kids to always wash their hands clean before taking any food or touching their faces after having taken hold of some money. We all know though, that this is something which proves to be very difficult to make a habit of.

My Grandmother use to say money was dirty. Literally money was dirty. I think I told her to wsah it. I was small, but I remember her saying this. She owned a small restaurant and handled money. In those days it was all money no plastic.
