being a member for almost 7 months now, people migt have thought that i have loads and loads of referrals already. but honestly, i don't. i only have 13 people under me. (and funny, only 2 are active! haha!) yep. i don't really send people invites nor post links. i just send links to people who had been interested in my way of earning something while at home. and there goes my 13 referrals. well, i am happy with what i am getting here in mylot. feels like it's okey if i don't get referrals at all. i meet people here, friends, i get to know things i really don't have ideas about before, i have fun and i get paid. so, what more should i ask for? lately, i had been reading discussions here where members are so sad because they can't get referrals. and so, i thought, okey, i should give it a shot, too. i sent 50 links in a form of an email to people...like experimenting if people will sign up or not. two weeks had passed and guess what!!! none of them signed up under me. funny but true! i just laugh about it rather than getting upset. well, atleast, i am having fun here and i did my part of sharing the good news to them about the wonerful world of mylot. it's their choice to join or not to join. and yesterday, i sent out 50 invitations again. and i'm gonna see again what happens after two weeks. haha! i'll keep you all updated! so, see? don't get frustrated if you can't get active referrals. old members like me only has 2 active ones. just enjoy your time here. so, what are your stories?

I have many referrals but none seems to be active today. When they were new here, they are active like me. If they are all active, I will be taking home less than a hundred dollars a month I guess.

You have taken the right approach. I don't have any referrals yet either. I hate pushing people into thinks. I'd LIKE to get referrals, but as yet, none so far. Best of luck to both of us in the future.

yep. it's not nice to push and force people to sign up. there are those who are up for easy money. and honestly, here in mylot, we need to work hard for the money (which i don't find anything wrong about. money is hard to earn anywhere anyway). if we force them, they'll just sign up out of respect to us and they're gone.

I agree with you it is difficult to get referals and more difficult to maintain them.I got two referals but no one has even posted once.Theus what the use of such referals.I think the admin should give us a facility to delete the non responding referals.

yep. it's already hard to get referrals. harder is to maintain them. i also have such kinds of referrals. but i don't blame them. if they are up to easy money, they can't find it here. this site is for people who wanna enjoy their spare time and share it with other people around the world.

I am still new on here, and I have zero referrals so far. I did send out an email and I even put the link in my signature for awhile. I will try again soon and see if I can get any referrals. I do tell people about it though. I am enjoying mylot tremendously anyway, with or without referrals. I have made many new friends, and the information I am getting is invaluable.

Referring is never easy irrespective of whether the program is worthwhile or not. I have a total of 36 referrals so far, but there are just 2 of them that could be considered active and they are not very prolific here either. As a result it is not unusual for my referral earnings for the day to be ZERO. It amazes me how many members think that they can acquire a few dozen referrals in a couple of days and then simply earn a good commission from them.

some people want to get easy cash. that's why they dream of having referrals and loads of them to get commissions from their work. it's not nice. seems like we are all too greedy to get so much money without doing anything.

It is difficult to get referrals, especially ones that become and stay active on here. I have a total of three referrals and only one of them is active and participates on myLot. One of the other two stopped using the site since she thought it was silly and all the topics were used up. I have tried putting my referral link in my emails to get more but not luck there and have told people by word of mouth but no interest that way either. It is okay for me to not have referrals or not many as I still enjoy coming here and communicating with friends and sharing ideas.

yep. better not to make it as a mission, not to focus on it much. or else, frustrations will just come flooding through. haha.

Reading your post makes me feel much reassured. I did felt quite frustrated when I could not sign any referrals in the early stages. Now after two and half months, I thought I was proud to sign up 5 referrals. However only one of them is active (slightly, I think) and the others did not post at all. You are already 7 months in mylot. Wow! finally a real senior mylotian. Nice to meet you.

nice to meet you, too. well, actually, not yet 7 months, but almost 7 months within this month of March. well, if you feel like you aren't doing great with your referrals, you aren't alone! there are many of us here. so, let's better have fun instead of feeling bad about the situation.

I have my fair share of experience when in terms of referrals as a 1 month member I guess it is so hard to invite referrals and make them believe that this forum will make a change in thier life and in thier well being as they can cultivate thier minds and reasoning on various discussion. Luckily I have 7 for 1 month and only 3 of them are active lol!! and most of them are my relatives and 1 is my husband ha!ha!ha who sometimes take times to make a post on his break time onboard. I really think referrals are not that easy to convince specially if they are all engrossed to various works what's best target are at home mom and working at home individuals for they can really have time to sign in everyday. But I don't get frustrated even I don't have active referral for me what I learned and earned with this forum is enough for me to be thankful for I enjoy every seconds I stay here at that for me really matters.

I have already written a discussion on my expreince of getting referrals. As far as the 'story' is concerend, I have 110 referrals at present. Around half of them started posting, but slowly went away. New ones have joined, and some of them have also started off well. Lets see where it goes from here. Initially, I neglected motivating referrals, and I hardly communicated with them, once they joined in. Now, I am trying to communicate with them, and help them in all possible ways. However, I think, at the end of the day, its all about individuality. I think, the few good refeerals who are still here after a month, are here, beacuse they are serious about myLot. Although, I would like to motivate everyone, referral or non-referral, beacuse I know one can really do well here, once he applies himeself well, but still, as I said, nothing can replace self-motivation. There are certain things, that needs to come from within. Nothing can be a substitute for that attiude. You got to have it in you. Nevertheless, I think even if you get 3-4 good active referrals out of a hundred, its worth the effort. I just think, that I will find a few ones like me, and once I got them, its going to be atomatic chain reaction of referrals! All the best to you, and your referral program. Just an adivce, dont sent random e-mails. Think about the target first. I think you should loo for the persons who are: * generally online. * into writing. * students, looking for a part time job. Cheeers!

sorry if i haven't been able to read your discussion about your experience. and thanks for the wonderful advice. yep. you're right. it all ends up with our own individualities, how we work hard, how we accept challenges, how we face "boring" days... good thing is, we're still here and we give our best in this program.

I have more than 400 referrals now. I am with mylot site for about 5 months now. But only about 20 to 25 referrals are active on mylot. I promote my mylot referral url in free classified sites & chat rooms.

20 to 25 active referrals? that's wow! too many! well, you deserve it. you worked hard to get them here. i wish all mylot members are as lucky as you. keep it up!

Yup that's true , I have seven referals under me and none of them could be considered active . I have two that might post one or two a week on a good week lol . But oh well , I am not in this for the referals , it would be cool to have them but not everyone is going to sign up as this isn't really for everyone . The truth is you have to do a lot of posting to make anything . I do good but I don't mind posting up a lot a day as I find it kind of interesting . I am here for me and what I can do and don't worry too much about what my referals are doing . If I could get them to do more I would but they are not that interested so not much more I can do about it :)

yep. it could have been cool to have lots of referrals. but sad thing is, it's impossible. well, we can get loads of referrals maybe but, how many could be active? hehe. just like you, i don't mind if i have referrals or none. i am here to have fun and mingle with mylot members!

I think that is not so hard get new referrals. YOu can get on MSN, Blogs, Sites, Orkut as many forms. I have 12 reaferrals but if I work hard to get more, I can. But the problem is... the referrals doesnt have interests, and theyl join in mylot, sign up buy dont work to earn money or to participate. I think that is more important has just few referrals that work and make money you them and for you than has a lot of referrals that doest get a penny a day.

that's the point, you can get referrals. the question is, will they be as active as us? yep. true. they just sign up but does not really show interest.

I have one whole referral LOL. I honestly didn't really want to bother with emailing my link out to friends or anything, it felt to me like I was overstepping the line so to speak. I don't really care about having referrals or not. The thing that matters most to me is having fun, posting responses to discussions, and learning new things. I'm not here for how much I can earn.

that's how i felt before, too. like overstepping. it's a bit embarrassing to email them a link and a short message especially if i don't know them. but it's nice to try sometimes, too.

It is hard because a lot of people do not have time for this. Some people comes up with the lame excuse. I have sent out 10 referral and I only got 5 active one. They try to do this but they have a busy life. So I do try to do a lot more but I do not get alot of responses. Does anyone know any more ways to get people under me?

Where do you get the leads for referrals? I don't even have 50 e-mails in my address book. LOL I have started a couple discussions and just got on mylot and have 07. cents and I don't even know how I got it. I have a ryze.com page I am going to post the link too and I have a myspace page I will post the link to also. Have you tried that?

nope. i don't post my link. just because i don't want to. hehe. well, went through some profiles on yahoo360 and emailed them. that's just easy.
