Do you think that friendship over the internet can sustain for a longer period of time or would it have a decaying kind of development and eventually come to a full stop

yeah why not? if it is a genuine friendship, then it would last for sure! but the only problem is that people over the internet cannot generally be trusted... i knwo this for sure as i have been betrayed by lots of people online.. but when u do meet someone as true as u are then u have one of the most beautiful freindships in this world!

Yes, they can be lasting. I have three friends I "met" over the internet ten years ago, one I have met in person several times and another I will meet in a couple of months. I have another good friendship of eight years. I do consider these people true friends, and love them dearly.

Friendship is friendship, is friendship. In fact, I would say that friends made over the internet last longer than if they were made in real life. Why? Simply because there are less opportunities to bicker and fight. :P Friends are made on the internet primarily because of similarity in interest - so when you are sharing that common interest, you will talk and laugh and that friendship will remain strong. I do have quite a few "internet friends" whom I still contact from time to time. ;-)
