rooney was injured in liverpool's match, larsson played his last match for Man Utd, solsjaer is injured yet again, rossi is rotting in newcastle. Alan Smith is still not fit. The only fit striker is saha. Can Man Utd still score?

I had thought of it, but rossi still need time to get back to fitness, after rotting for so long in newcastle. Nope.. the latest news is that rooney has 8 stitches and may be out.

What do you mean that Larsson has played his last match. I thought he was around till the end of the season. I am pretty sure that Saha would be able to fill in the slot for the EPL matches, but of course Champions League would be very difficult for United. Luckily, in Lille they have a weaker opposition for this round. Cheers! Ram

There are other players that can play as suport for the striker and score. I'm thinking of Cristiano Ronaldo or Paul Scholes.

yes....i certainly feel man utd could do with some more srikers at their disposal...our squad could certainly do with some reinforcements. Difting away from the topic a bit...i would say that our main area of concern is midfield....no finger-pointing on ronaldo or carrick.....both of them are young players brimming with confindence & talent....however we do need to ponder on scholsey & giggsey....no offence to either of them.....with the passion & commitement that they are playing...they could go on till they turn 45....but every career has an expiry date & every professional also has a personal life...we will need to find replacements for them eventually. Coming back to our strikers---- we have 2 extraordinary talents in the form of saha & rooney....but have either of them acheived their full potential?....im sure all of u would agree that they haven't. Apart from them(after larsson leaves), we an aging legend in the form of solskjaer & an untried youngster in the form of dong......Are these bunch of strikers good enough to win us the EPL season after season & also the UCL a few times.....certainly not!!...For the UCL we always almost relied on our faithful goal poacher - Nistelrooy....his record in the UCL proves that. Certainly Saha & Rooney can go on to become a lethal striking pair in the years to come. However, depending on just the both of them could prove to be dangerous. Doing that would mean that an injury to either of them could wreck our chances of winning a trophy. We do need someone as mature as Nistelrooy & as agile as saha....it is a tough grind to find....but sir alex is a master of finding the right people to strenghten the squad & we can more than rely on him.
