Did you bond with your baby straight away?
I ask this as my wife and I bonded to our son straight away. But our friends seem to have never really bonded with their baby. I feel very sorry for him.
Perhaps the stronger bond will come later.
Has that happened to you?

I bonded with my daughter right away, when she was 8 days old I got the phone call every parent dreads. "Your daughter has a disease and needs to come in NOW". It turned out to be a very common disease (Congenital Hypothyroid (1 in 4000 diagnosed)). This really kicked in the maternal instinct to protect my daughter. My husband at the time never bonded with her, I was 8 months pregnant when he said he wished we weren't having her. And yes, she was planned down to the day of conception. I am divorced now and he hasn't seen her since she was 8 months old, she is almost 5 now. He chose not to see her.

Theres probably some underlying reason for your friends not bonding with their baby. I think you bond with your baby during pregnancy, and your partner loves the way you are during this time, and also bonds.
I certainly bonded with mine straight away and I'm sure most people do. I just feel there might be something gnawing away at your friends, for some reason. Why don't you talk to her gently about it. She might open up and tell you, but if not, don't push it. If she does, you may be able to help her. Invite her to your place and let her see how you are with your baby... indeed, invite the both of them round.
I hope this helps. Brightest Blessings.
