sometime in october 2006, i lost my yahoo account to a phisher/hacker. a few weeks later, my sister's friend became a victim of the same thing, and worse, the phisher/hacker was able to get money from the friends of the owner of the stolen account via identity theft. the phisher/hacker posed as the owner, and asked through chat some friends of the account owner to buy fonkards (load) worth 5k (in philippine currency) which he promised to pay the following day through western union and asked them to scratch off the code of each card. the person who bought the fonkards didnt get any payment until she found out she wasnt dealing with the real account owner but a thief. fonkards are easy to sell coz they're good as cash and the phisher/hacker got away with it just like that.

I haven't been, fortunately, but I sure do get a lot of emails that are trying it on. It is too bad that there are so many people out there that have so little concern for others.
