Are celebrities really interested in charities?

Do you feel that celebrities are really interested in charities and good causes or are they just intetested in themsleves.
I feel that there are a very few who are genuinely interested in the good cause that they are supporting.
If they are a musician and they appear at a charity concert, their record sales shoot up. If they are comedians, sales of their dvds shoot up.
I can see an agent there telling them - it is a good career move.
I have seen these celelbrities asked about the charities and they know nothing about them.

What i personally feel is that some of them do really believe in charities and stuff but most of them are publicity seekers.

I think that just like anyone else, there are some who are interested and some who are not. They are people at the end of the day you know?
