Husbands that cook.

I have come from a long line of men cooks. My dad cooked, my father in law cooked and my 4 sons cook. My husband cooks for the joy of it. Even after a long day working a Walt Disney World as a monorail driver, he looks forward to cooking dinner. How lucky am I?

It's not you only who is lucky. I would rather say both of you are lucky. Because I see a good hormony between between you two. This is what should be there in every couple. When there no barrier like wife's work or husband's work, A family stands firm. Because I too cook many times, my wife can do any type of work as like a man. We both are a substitute for each other, neither we feel anything bad in doing each others work. I am very glad to read this from you that there is one more family as like mine. Wishing you a happy family life.

Well i think all men should be able to cook and it is down to the mothers to ensure they do. Im lucky, i have a great cook for a husband, but i really think it should be more generalised blessed be

Sounds like that's something we have in common! My dad is a wonderful cook. In addition to the standard "grillmaster" role, he makes the best breakfast, chili, crab soup, ribs and turkey dinners I've ever had. My grandfather on dad's side always did a lot of the cooking for him and my grandmother too. My ex-husband went to culinary school and worked as a chef. He made most of our meals at home, first as practice, then as a hobby after he re-careered and went into computers. The fact that he was so much better in the kitchen than I was and we were both spoiled by his cooking probably had something to do with it too : ). My boyfriend loves to cook and is great at it too. I love coming home a few times a week to the meals he's made. I like playing around in the kitchen with him too, making stuff together. I'm not much of a cook myself - or rather what I do cook tends to be vegetarian because even though I do eat meat I don't like dealing with it raw!

You are VERY lucky, but I'm also lucky. My sweetheart LOVES cooking for the joy of it. I hate to cook, but he loves it. He loves to cook and I love to eat, so we make a great pair. He's a gourmet, and cooks the most delicious stuff!!! ;-)

First off, before I even answer this... you husband is a monorail driver? that, to me, is so awesome. I've always wanted to work at Disneyland out here. Anyways, back to the subject at hand. You know, I love to cook. I do it for my wife all the time. We both work, but I get home about 2 1/2 hours before she does. in that difference of time, I work out a bit, either at the gym or go for a short run, come home, shower, and get dinner ready. Its something I do, maybe not everyday, but very often. Occasionally, sometimes I'll be tired and just order out for my wife. ;-)

My husband will cook once in awhile but not very often . He does all the bar-b-qing in the summer as I refuse to learn how to use the bar b q as I know I would end up being the one to have to use it all the time lol . He does make pizza when we are having pizza and once in awhile when he wants something different then what the rest of us are eating he will make something different but this is not very often . You are lucky :)

Very lucky! I do most of the cooking for us, but I love the nights when my husband will say "I'll cook tonight". I don't mind doing the majority of cooking and housework because he works all day and I don't. I think I'm also very lucky though - because he is always really appreciative of my efforts in the house and never takes what I do for granted.

All my brothers can cook and they really do a good job. They say men are better cooks than women. Honestly, I can't cook to save my life. My boyfriend cooks, although not that well (but don't tell him I said that), I keep teasing him that when we get married, he shouldn't expect me to cook and either he cooks, or we'll be eating take-out food for the rest of our lives.

I'm afraid I come from a long line of men overly concerned about their male image to do anything having to do with sharing tasks in the house. Yard work, yes. Remodeling work inside, yes. But cooking, cleaning, or dishwashing, forget it. Thankfully, we don't have many males in my family! We are mostly female. I do have a six-year-old grandson living in Canada. Hopefully he will break the tradition and be more responsible for sharing the work at home.

My husband is the cook at home usually which is fine I don't really care to cook , something easy is okay. The only thing I hate is the mess he makes and rarely cleans up. You're lucky he likes to cook after work thats when I usually have to cook is for him & kids after his work/their school.

You are very lucky! My father was a cook in the army and he refuses to cook anymore. My fiance, can't cook to save his life. He attempted to make a cake yesterday and decided he wanted to experiment and put it in our toaster oven/rotisserie. Needless to say that didn't work out very well. LOL!

You are really lucky just like me. Well, I know how to cook too but my husband is a better cook so he do the cooking most of the time especially on special occassions. I consider myself even more luckier because he doesn't see any problem witht hat while there are men who thinks that cooking is just for the girls. He really is a good cook and my family, and his loves it when he does. His specialties are Chop Suey, Buttered Garlic Shrimp, Beef Steak, Menudo, Adobo and Chicken Afritada.
