Without using any sacred scriptures can you prove there is a God? Is it possible? Can a person prove to mee that there is a God without depending on the scriptures?I have asked many people this question and I am still at a loss for an answer as noone has been able to prove that there is a God the same as others have not been able to prove that God does not exist. So here is a platform for you to test your convictions, prove to mee that God either does or does not exist!! I believe God exists, not as an exterior God but rather an internal one and I am compiling information, all sorts of information as that is my diety of choice (information). So please help mee compile my information, any help will be appriciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my discussion and for leaving a response. Have a nice day and please tell mee what you think!!

To begin it is neither Sir nor Madam as those are my mother and father, we are equals thus I am just mee a 35 year old man. Now as for the building of the universe and life, it has been explained with the Big Bang Theory and evolution. As these are theories they are no more valid than the Creationism theory. I love the acronym "Generator Operator Destroyer" that is a great way to describe God as the word God is a title not a name as many mistake. The true name of God is hidden in the tetragrammaton of YHVH. So thank you for the great acronym. Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

While I don't think this is proof to an unbeliever, it gives cause for thought. An even more convincing one is to study the human body. Many of its intricacies are still unknown to medicine.

Sorry Cloudwatcher did not see you there when I was replying up ^^^ there. Intelligent design by the complication factor. That is a little better than the rose as the body and all of it's components work perfectally togather thus proving a grand archetectual (sp)work, a true master peice!! Thank you my friend and have a great day!!

Fine, I'll bite: It does not have divine intelligence behind it. I honestly believe that as much as you believe it does.

Meeandnotyou, another interesting, thought-provoking and challenging discussion. Thank you. I cannot prove to you the existence of God, just as no one can prove the non-existence of God. There are numerous things which POINT to the existence of a living, creator God, but these cannot be proven. The only proof of a living God is by experience: by a personal relationship with Him. No matter what anyone says or does or does against me, I could not possibly deny the existence of God, because I have experienced the REALITY of His constant presence. He is my loving heavenly Father. I could quote many real-life instances of missionaries who have refused to deny the existence of Jesus Christ in their lives at tremendous cost to themselves. I know of a missionary couple in the Mau Mau uprising who watched their young children spreadeagled and cut through the length of their bodies, one after the other: a harrowing experience, but they would not deny Christ. That could be repeated with account after account, but it does not prove there is a God. You can supply all sorts of explanations. The fact is that no one can know God through a merely MENTAL acceptance of His existence. If I could supply you with indisputable proofs, it would not be enough. God is only known through a relationship with Him and He has dictated HOW that relationship can be established. I am sorry, but you can ask until doomsday; you can ask every Christian living; you can read every book written; but a mental acceptance will never prove to you the existence of God - not because He doesn't exist, but because you are seeking the wrong way. God is known through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mee I did not say the testimony of others makes a thing true. NOTHING can prove God on a mental level. I just quoted these as an example of coming to belief through a mental approach. Even though they were convinced by their mental reasonings, these men came to faith in Christ through an EXPERIENCE with Him, not because of their mental findings.

First I would like to say that I am glad that you like some of my discussions as I love to make people think and as such I do not usually get very many responses and the occaisional hurt feeling, but all is well as I like to make people think as there is so much in life that people say and do without thinking at all and it is time for people to think rather than blindly believe, and as for the hurt feelings.... if someone takes what I say as an assult then they have issues since I never try to provoke noone except for maybe one since I have been here. You and I have had a couple great discussions and for that I am very thankful to you as you have made mee think. My relationship with the Creator is as personal as it can get and I have felt the power and might that it possesses and that I will never deny. I ask questions like this to make others think and to get ideas to compile as more and more information. A mental acceptance would be great as it would be able to reach more and more people as so many people disregard the Creator since they cannot wrap their MINDS around it. So if I can come up with some indisputable evidence it would be great but I have been unable to get this evidence to date and my thoughts, feelings, emotions, desires, etc... are no good to anyone else besides for mee. Someone above you in this discussion has posted a link that I am eager to look at as it is scientific in nature from what they say and that may be what I am looking for. Once again my friend, thank you for comming to one of my discussions and have a great day!!!

So it is the testament of others that make a thing true!! This works in the scientific world as well as it is just a theory until it it is tested and proven by others. Once again a great response from you my friend. I love the intellect that you hold and how your views are not just your own and you are actually able to back them up. You have sited a few great thinkers here and all are valid as they examine the "proof" which in this case is the scriptures. Thank you very much for the response and have a great day!!

Even though I spent 12 years in Catholic school with the required one hour of daily religious instruction, I have tried to reconcile religion and science. I understand that scientists say life began when molecules and atoms and space dust collided in the Big Bang and that does make sense to me. But I always wondered where all those molecules and atoms and space dust came from. I've heard people argue Evolution vs Creationism. Not sure on that either, cause if we evolved from apes, why are there still apes? On the other hand, as Tevye would say (and Tevye was a firm believer in God) we can definitely see that the human race has evolved physically, growing taller, stronger and living longer. Is that evolution or just growth hormones? I cannot prove the existence of God to you, that is why it is called "Faith."

Thank you for the response and I totally agree with you as Faith is blind Science has holes in it so it is hard to reconcile as you either go blind or with partical facts?!? That option is totally up to the single person. Thank you for the response and have agreat day!!

Have you ever felt so down and depressed that noone, even family and friends can cheer you up? Have you ever experienced extreme pain and suffering? Have you had any problem, big or small, that you yourself haven't any solutions for? I think you will find God in your most darkest hour. Experience suffering as Christ have suffered for us. Spend a week in the poorest and underdeveloped regions in the world. Live their life, eat their food, drink their water... I do believe you still have it within you... It's during our lowest moments do we ever call for Him. Proving God is personal. I believe, that's why I don't need any proof.

Wonderful answer.... You need no proof because you BELIEVE. This is the way that most people are since FAITH is Blind and as such it needs not to make sense. Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

I love your question and I answer with my own question. Which God would you like to be proven to you? There are so many, who is to really say which one exist or for that matter how many exist. We all seek God and we all seek answers, I can no more prove God to you than you can prove that he/she does not exist. The true believer only can rely on faith that there is a God. If any man says he can without a doubt prove there is a God, you should run fast because he trying to scam you. Look inside for the answer you seek and not from someone else.

Good answer! Religion as it is today is a matter of Faith and Faith alone as the only true way to know that God exists is by Faith which is a personal thing. I hear people tell mee all of the time that they can PROVE that God exists and when I ask them to prove it they either try to throw the Bible at mee or clam up and try to change the subject. I personally believe in the Creator because I feel the presence every day in my life and I know that my life force is through the Creator, although I know that all things that happen to mee good and bad is totally responsible to mee and mee alone, it was not the Creator that showed mee favor nor the Devil that caused the bad, it is all dependant upon mee as the Creator only helps those that help themselves, so all things in my life rest squarely on my shoulders and mine alone. Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

Sorry I forgot to answer your question. My answer for that is any of them unless you consider yourself a God then that will not work. Although the question was retorical I thought that it would be polite to answer it none the less. Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

Sometimes, there are moments in my life asking the same way as yours. Is there really God? I have a very religious family. And they really thought me to pray and have a God fearing attitude. When i was young, everytime i pray, like "Lord, please i want that shoes,dress,etc."(Materially)...And God never fails me because i got all of it!Until i enter marriage life.It was then, that i almost forget to pray because of my busy life taking care of my family. But everything was a failure, i got separated,i was abandoned and i shed a lot of tears. I was really devastated at that time. Life is too unfair. Until, such time that i was hopeless and broken, i call him and ask sorry for everything.I know, He was only there by my side, waiting for me to ask his guidance and love. Because of the pain i encounter, i forgot to appreciate little things he did for me. Having a loving family (my parents, sistes & brothers),a beautiful kids which are my 2 sons, blessings from the people who truly loves me...And the wisdom i have now because of experiences ive learned. All my fears was gone and i know i am a real woman and have a tough heart inspite of everything. I know, everything is from God!!!You may not see Him in flesh, but you can feel Him deep inside of your being if you really open your HEART and have FAITH on Him!!!

It is the little things in life that we need to be greatful for as it is the combination of these little things that create something great. I am sorry to hear about your marriage going to pot but I am glad that you have learned and greaw from it. Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

I have been reading "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins and I think you would find it a fascinating asset to your research. He discusses many topics in depth and has obviously put a lot of work into his studying. If there are any topics in the book you want to look into further, for example if you want proof that he isn't making things up, there is a long list of references (books, scientific studies, etc.) in the back of the book. I would give a list of reasons I feel there is not an external God but really that book does it so much more eloquently than I ever could so I highly recommend reading it.

Prove God? Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon?,Have you ever seen a baby smile?I believe there is a God in the fact that we,as human beings, are able to love. We are also unique in that we have free will,we are the only ones who possess it.God is love,he is all encompassing. When you fall in love that is God,when you love, your children, mom and dad,brothers,sisters.......that is God.When I am extremely happy,I can feel God.God loved us so much that he made us,gave us free will and gave us the ability to love.

Yes I have been to the Grand Canyon, it is a very beautiful peice of distruction. It is great how DISTRUCTION can be so beautiful. A Baby smile, yes I have seen that also. Too bad they have to grow up and loose that innocence thus once again DISTRUCTION!! The ability to love.... I know some people that have killed for the sake of Love. I know of others that kill because they love power and athority. Then there are those that love money so much that they will do anything for it. Love has cause so much DISTRUCTION in this world, it cannot be a completely good thing. Free will.... how do we have free will? If we do not live by God's rules we burn in hell forever!! How free is that, how about I buy you a car, let you do all of the upkeep, you pay the insurance, etc... You can now go anywhere you want to (FREE WILL) but..... you cannot drive nor enjoy your car unless it is with mee, if you do take the car or enjoy the car without mee I will torchure you FOREVER because you forsook mee!! Does that sound like a GOOD DEAL to you?!? That is the options that God gave us! Free will and Religion are complete opposites!! I am sorry if you take offence to what I have said as that was not the purpose, I am just being the "Devil's Advacate" as I do believe in the Creator and that will never change. Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

NO I am not an ATHIEST!! I actually have a personal relationship with the Creator. I have the type of faith that is not blind, is not factless, is not useless. My faith is not because I am DEPENDANT on the Creator, it is not that I NEED the Creator, it is not that I WANT SOMETHING from the Creator. I ask the Creator for nothing, I expect nothing from the Creator. It is because I WANT AND I LOVE THE CREATOR!! I was Created in the image and likness of the Creater and with out the Creator nothing would exist. Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

According to science, this world was created by the Big bang theory, two bodies collided and this perfect planet was created, frankly i do not beleive that this world was created by the collision of 2 bodies, but it was created by god, now lets say that it was created by the collision of 2 bodies, i ask you who created the 2 bodies? and who made them collide? my answer is GOD! Great topic meeandnotyou!!

Very awesome post. The fact is, not a single human being on Earth can, or ever had been able to, prove the existence of God. However, I argue that it is just as hard, if not harder, to prove the nonexistence of God. I believe in kind of an "Eastern" notion of God, that is, everything is a part of God. But check this out, by definition, a "God" is supposed to be a perfect being. Well, we are all rather, well, imperfect, and therefore it is impossible for us to describe a perfect being. No one religion's God, nor any one preacher's God is the right and perfect God. As far as your thesis/argument goes, consider these angles: Can we conceive of anything that does not exist? We do not know of perfection, but we at least have an idea of perfection, so perhaps it does exist. If there's no God, then who/what created everything. How did reality and existence come into being in the first place, if not the hand of creation? There are patterns everywhere, not to mention how these patterns seem to found in infinite measurement in all directions--example: the structure of an atom is built very much like the structure of a solar system which is very much like the structure of a galaxy, etc. Everyone who has lived to maturity has experienced things that are way too coincidental or outright inexplicable (unexplainable?), if not for the notion of divine intervention. People of every nationality and religion proclaim the existence of miracles... Are they all liars? For all my ranting and raving, I hope I have somehow helped you and given you something to work with. Thanks for the opportunity. Sincerely, a believer, David A. Reedy...

I believe that you don't need to have evidence or pieces of evidence to prove that God is existing, since all you do is believe and to have faith. My husband is an Atheist and I am a Catholic (perfect combination right?). But here's one thing I discovered from our relationship, there is no way that you can convince anybody that there is a God (I've tried this with my husband) once they have believed that He doesn't exist, just the way you can't convince somebody who believes in the His existence and tell them that he doesn't. I believe that each and one of us have their own reasons and proof that makes us believe that there is and for some there isn't. A person with a cancer given only days to live and lives more than that can use that as his proof, it's more of somebody's experience...there are some people who says that there is no God since they've experienced mishaps and other sad things and say that there is no God. My reasons for believing in God are very personal and something that I myself have encountered and considered as acts of miracles. I do encounter a lot of downs in my life as well but I do not blame God nor deny his existence because of it. I believe that God exists, that He is just and He's just there, He's in everyone and anything around us. All I can say is, nobody can convince me that He doesn't exist, the way I cannot convince somebody who doesn't believe that He does, they need to be first hand witnesses to that.

Look at yourself, examine yourself as a whole. Then ask these questions, "How did I exist and come to look like I am now? Why do I breathe in air and crave for food and water? How come I see all these wonderful things around me?" Maybe that would answer your questions about the existence of God.

I think it depends on where you are looking. I believe the proof of God though is ALL around you. From the things in nature, to the earth (the way it was made, how if it were too far over or not enough it wouldnt have enough sun, etc.). But my favorite I have heard about was the human body. Think about HOW complex the human body is. From the brain, the heart, to it all, just think about it! I found two sites while cruising the net. Maybe they would be of help: http://www.allaboutcreation.org/proof-of-god.htm http://www.everystudent.com/features/isthere.html I REALLY love this song by Carman a Christian artists and well he helps explain this as well here are the lyrics: Carman - There Is A God 93 million miles from the blistering surafce of the sun hangs the planet earth. A rotating sphere perfectly suspended in the center of the universe. The ultimate creation from an infinate mind. An unbelievably intricate complex design. A supernatural testimony, an irrefutable sign that there is a God. The size, position and angle of the earth is a scientific phenomenon to see. A few degrees closer to the sun we'd disintegrate, a few degrees further, we'd freeze. The axis of the earth is titled at a perfect 23 degree angle and it's no mistake that it is. This allows equal global distribution to the rays of the sun making it possible for the food chain to exist. Or take for example the combination of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere we breathe every day. It just happens to be the exact mix that life needs to prosper, it doesn't happen on any other planet that way. You see, the Bible says the invisible things of God are seen through His creation, to believe this is not hair. If there's a design, there's a designer, if there's a plan, there's a planner and if there's a miracle, there is a God. CHORUS: There is a hope, there is a light There is an answer to all answers There is a flame that burns in the night And I know, I know, I know there is a God The Scripture says the heavens decalre the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of His hands. If we allow our minds to drink in all the truth that surrounds the truth that just surrounds us, creation itself with help us understand. Did you know the moon controls the tides, it's the maid that cleans the oceans. Even the waves don't crash the shores in vain. The tides drag impurities from the depths of the sea, it's nature's constrant recycling chain. It simply boggles the mind to think that the stars will rotate with such exact precision that it's true. That the atomic clock with an error factor of less than three seconds per millenium is set by the way we move. Though they silently orbit, the sun, the moon, the stars are like celestia http://www.allthelyrics.com/song/403292/ HOPE this helps you out! :))

I can tell you first hand that there is a God. I have had him speak to me directly in a dream. 2 weeks before my daughter was born he came to me and told me that I was going to have a little girl and that she was going to be sick. There was a beautiful bright light so bright that it sould of pieced my eyes with hurt but, instead it was so soothing and warming, I never saw God just his voice. The presence was just absolutely amazing. I was also told that he wanted her name to be Charity Joy because my husband did not believe in him and through her he would open up my husband's eyes. He told me that Charity joy meant "Love & Joy". He said that everything in the end would be o.k. After our daughter was born she began to show signs of illness just 2 weeks old. The doctors took so long finding out what was wrong with her that we almost lost her. She has Cystic Fibrosis disease. I did name her what I was told to, I obeyed. Now she is doing so much better has her up and down days but, has been out of the hospital for over 3 years now. She is 7 years of age. She is just a joy to us. Now my husband is saved and goes to church with me and the kids. God does exists but Jesus was the one that was here on the earth in human form. God can do wonderful things and he can make miracles happen.

Ya God really does exist!!! Our mere existence cant help or doesnt provide any meaning if there was nobody behind the creation of this Universe. There should be a driving force and that has made the Universe around us! It is as true as, No film would be possible if a script is not provided to fulfill its sequences... Plus if there is no directory the film by itself would have no driving force... and it will never begin leave alone completion.
