Does your dog have an alter ego?

I think my Jack Russell sometimes thinks she's a Rottweiler, big and tough. She will take on anything and do so fearlessly. The bigger the dog the more aggressive she is towards it. Sometimes I think she dreams she is a Rottweiler chasing all the lttle dogs around. Then she wakes up and realizes she was dreaming about chasing herself. She thinks she is the boss of the neighborhood. Nobody or nothing is allowed to walk in front of or near her house. And God forbid if anyone in the hood makes too much noise. She just have to give them a big piece of her mind. I told my partner the other day that I think our dog is a Transbreed, a Rottweiler trapped in a Jack Russell body!!! Does anyone else have a dog with an alter ego? I would love to hear about it.

Being fearless is a common characteristic of terriers. As small as they are they are really tough. They can be very aggressive especially if not well trained and socialized with other dogs or people. They like to climb a lot. Also they tend to be restless and destructive if not properly exercised.

She is very well trained and listens quite well when told to calm down. She is very active and plays a lot.

i have 2 dogs and one of mine is crossed with a jack russell, and she is just the same. my other dog is a labrador/retreiver and is the size of a small horse but tessie just runs rings round him. if anyone comes to the door it is always her that barks and tries to see everybody off. she is so small but like yours seems to think she is big and the boss of everyone.

Haha... I have a beagle-fox terrier that is the exact same way ! I do not have any idea why small dogs are like that...but she can be quit funny at times. Maggie has no problem defending herself from our bigger dog.

Who knows? maybe they think if they bark enough others will have no choice but to listen and beware. My dog terrorizes my cousin's Chocolate Lab. He actually runs and hides from her.
