I agree with you that she should be giving her baby another way to deal with whatever is bothering him, but chances are you won´t be able to change her mind. Think back to when you had your kids and the advice people gave you, did you listen? Maybe to some of it, but most of us have our own ideas and don´t like to be told we are wrong, especially when it comes to parenting.

I agree with you on this one. I would give him water and if he refuses it, I would add a tiny drop of ribena to sweeten it. I don't think a baby should have too much milk as it wouldn't be good for them.

Best way to talk to her is to actualy sit down and explain to her that too much milk is bad for a baby. She may feel like you are trying to take over. When my son who is now 14 months old was first born, everyone was giving me advice and help but i felt like they were trying to take over instead of me learning for myself on what to do. If i was you i would just sit down and explain to her on what you think would be better to do but do it when he is asleep that way she is relaxing and he is not crying when you try to tell her. First time mothers can get stressed out when there child is crying and someone is trying to tell them what to do. Think back to when your first child was born and how you felt when everyone was trying to give advice.. Hope all works out and i have not upset you... congradulations on your granchildren to.
