Money, the big lie

What is money? Money is the biggest lie there is, money was taken off the gold and silver standard so it is no more than a piece of paper with ink on it. What do we base our money on? If money is not based on gold, silver or precious stones then it is no more than a piece of paper with ikn on it, which also brings the point of gold, silver and precious stones, you can't eat, drink or breath them so when it all comes down to it the people with the food, water and the ability to farm will be the ones to survive.

It's not based on gold anymore, but still it has a base (I think). Anyway, money is not just a piece of paper as long as it can by other things. I agree with you that the rush of obtaining money doesn't mean anything if you don't use it. So, if one day become really just a piece of paper, that's when it will be totally useless.

True we will always hold value to it. There has been talk of money changing to a plastic even coins because it would be much cheaper and last three times as long. Have you heard anything??

Right on Tecnoblast, you have a very good point here. It will be the ones who can create food to be the surviours of this planet. Money is only valueable because people put value on it. If they didn't value it, there would be something else that they would value. It should be food, and shelter, not money but it is what it is.

Dont you wish you could be like the government, just print some up when you want some more?? I have heard talk about money changing to plastic, does that mean the money now will be worthless or even illegal to posses???

It wouldn't suprise me, like back during WW I or WW II can't remember off the top of my head which it was, but it was illegal to posses gold. So it would be like our government to do that.
