hi wm69love, sorry, I don't know why China is called china. But in my opinion this is not the way to start a discussion. If you know the answer of your question, you should disclose it to others. And if you would like to know why other countries got their names you can enquire it in your discussion. Or if you don't know the answer of the question you should ask that "I want to know why my country is called/named China. Can anyone help" Anyway I will search the net and try to find out the answer to your question LOL

the name of the Qin Dynasty that first unified the country (221-206 BCE). I think this is why the english form was China.

I thought it was named after the 1st unifying dynasty, Ch'in. They were the first imperial government. At least that is what I remember...and no, I wasn't there. LOL

Your question really attracts me...I'm not a historian.But I know China's earliest meaning is the center of an area where a tribe stay.And it first appears in the early period of West Zhou.As for the detailed history,I'm looking forward your answer....
