There a lot of programming to learn if you want to come an professional web developer like PHP, MYSQL, HTML, ASPX, JAVA, CGI and some more, i know PHP, MYSQL, GRAPHIC DESIGN, FLASH, JAVA, HTML i am not a professional on these but i am a starter i do not know much about java but i know more about HTML and PHP and MYSQL, i have edited some php files also experienced with most common problems i think you should go for PHP, MYSQL, FLASH, GRAPHIC DESIGNER and JAVA that are the main scripts the extras are CGI and ASPX but PHP is more popular but it really up to you which one you find easy you learn that. I have an site of my own www.cellphonejunky.co.uk it is made from CMS phpnuke, phpnuke is written is PHP.

my advice use php5 and mysql. both free and there are many website that could help u with it. but i don't know how to connect with flash, don't even know how to use one.or just buy book, there are many at my campus
