Job hopping....!

In some volatile industries like advertising, television or retailing,software... job-hopping is the norm.
Do u think that hopping from one job to another in rapid succession is a sure way to the top....?
What r the reasons u think...behind job hopping?
....to overcome obstacles such as a clearly hostile boss, demotion or a significant decrease in pay.

Job hopping is on the rise, everywhere, and in any industry. People move on because of better prospects or because they want to change their original line of work, or simply because they need a change of environment.
And in fact, too much hopping may be detrimental to your career - you don't want your resume to imply that you won't be staying at your new position for long, would ya? :P
