what does this BETA means in yahoo messenger beta?

Ya beta version of any product is the version that is still under testing and can be changed in its final release depending on the performance and qualities of that product. So I think yahoo messenger beta also means the same thing - the yahoo messenger under testing.

that was the final version n for ur kowledge yahoo has designd new yahoo messenger for vista which is totally different from its previous(current version)in appearance n will be realesed in mid of 2007.

BETA version means testing version of software. Companies provides Beta version to test the software. Yahoo is also distribution is Beta version. You can download and test it.

Normally, when a program is in its beta stage, its still at its testing stage but almost at the final and complete state already. So it should face much major problems when using.

BETA means that this is not the final version. It's like a test where developer and beta testers test the product and search for bugs/errors. After this process they fix all the mistakes and only than release the final version.
