Do you feel the world is going downhill fast or do you think we are on a steady course for a bright future. I'd like to hear your opinions and how you've formed them. Thanks in advance.

i think people are becoming more practcal day by day becouse of increasing competetion in every field. To prove himself\herself upto the mark, they are becoming more selfish.Love ,humanity has been vanished somewhere in rush of this world.People just think about themselves, and we are one them.

That's a tough one to answer and I think where we come from is going to affect our opinions. Lets see; Greed is rampant, many people seem to want more than they have and even if they get more it's still not enough. Those people entrusted with our society are often corrupt, incompetent or just plain don't care. Most people are aware of this but no-one alone can do anything about it so nothing happens and we continue on down that path. I know of a lot of people who want more money, but they don't want to work harder for it they just feel it is a right. In fact in many cases they aren't even doing a good enough job to start with. I teach and it's sad to see the number of students who want to get excellent grades, but they don't feel that they have to earn those. They want all of the information handed to them and easy tasks to complete. When they leave school they talk about getting a great car, a large salary, a mobile phone, all of which are to be supplied by their employer of course, but they want this from day one and feel they deserve it. I'm not saying that they are all like that and I also know many who are hard workers but the former are defintely growing in numbers. We are now in a generation where it seems that lying, cheating and backstabbing are seen as better ways of getting ahead than hard work and integrity. Then there is ordinary every day manners, rudeness is on the increase as is consideration, respect for others, respect for our surroundings and so on. Individually there are a lot of great people, but taken collectively, much as I would like to, I don't see a pretty picture.

I don't necessarily think mankind is getting worse. I think we have news media now that covers every inch of the globe, so we are more AWARE of the atrocities man can do to each other and the environment. Reading the Bible, or even looking at the historical actions the Romans and then the Vikings took, well they were just as bad back then as we are today. In Africa, the people were taught having twins was a sign of evil. The parents would just leave the children to be eaten in the jungle. Now we just have around the clock coverage of the awfulness so we can all take in the misery.

yea, the media coverage sometimes can be atrocious, they always seem to put a spin on things as well.

I think that as violence and crime becomes more acceptable the world is getting worse and worse. People don't have as much respect for others or are as positive in their attitudes as they used to be and I think this needs to change for the world to get back on the right track.

I think so too, and with the news media constantly covering the bad stuff, it makes it all the more difficult to see the good in the world.
