There are a lot of categories hear that I have not ever looked at because they are of no interest to me. Maybe I should I might find something of interest who knows. But one that I use to go to that I will not is the joke one. I find that people are just doing a lot of coping and pasting. I once put a discussion under this topic and all I got was a pile of jokes in return, I do not even think that they read my topic or they would not have responded this way. It had nothing to do with it. Any one else out there with an opinion on this. I really want to hear.

I only check jokes posts from one of my friends because she only do it occasionally and has a good taste in it and she choose thought provoking ones not just any copy and paste jokes. I stay away from most parenting, religion, women stuff, homosexuality debates and regional issues and names that I don't know much about.

I stay away from the girl related categories because I'm a guy. Naturally I don't want to discuss child birth or periods. lol. I don't like discussions that are jokes because what are you going to say when responding. you can't possilby write 3 lines on a joke unless you're repeating it. so I don't see the point in that.

I stay away from politics and there are too many "heaven or hell" discussions. Sometimes I answer, especially if the person is sincere and really seems to be searching the truth.
I like to post jokes but I would like to have family friendly jokes back.
I am not interested in who won some sport or other contest and don“t listen to all sorts of music.
There are over 76 000 people here, so we can really choose what interests us most - we would never have time to take part in all discussions anyway.
Interesting subject - thanks for starting it.

There are a lot of materials in many blogs which are copies of the writing of original author. But I do not especially hate this kind of activities. The categories I always try not to be involved are the topics concerning sensitive political ideology, and arguments between religions. One reason is, I know not much about the political world and religious chasm, The second reason is some people who are interested in these areas have extreme point of view, they may not like the slightest disagreement against their beliefs. So I always remind myself not to take part in such discussions, I don't want to end up like an English writer who was almost murdered by some extreme muslims many years years ago.
