Does it Really take that much to Smile?

How can you be so happy all the time? Not to brag, but my friends always ask me that. How can I be so happy all the time? I haven't really thought about it, but now that I have, I've come with the question how can't I? My life ws great growing up. Everything I needed was supplied. I go through life with no enemies but plenty of friends. My friends hate that I am the first person to say sorry even if it wasn't my fault. Why do they hate that? Why is it so bad to try and be the nice person. The thing I hate is when some gives you a dirty look because you accidently bumped into them and apologized. I understand that not everyone was raised with a good childhood, but even those that I KNOW had a good childhood sometimes turn out to be those people who give the dirty looks. It seems like it is so hard to find someone who is in a good mood most of the time. Why can't people be more like the character Jimmy Stewart plays in the movie Harvey? (If you haven't seen it I recommend it) He's just a happy go lucky guy. And I love his saying that everyday is a beautiful day. Isn't that true? It seems like most people don't see it that way. I know there is an exception of people who have had really hard times in life, but I guess it's just the mentality you have. I, for one, love to be the person who is always smiling.

I don't naturally smile and it drives my husband crazy...he thinks I am mad all the time. So it is definitely something I am working on...I would love to be the happy person that smiles all the time!! I don't know why, maybe my parents didn't smile often, but I had a good childhood also....I just need to share my smile with the world like you do!!

Haha..its nice to smile. It makes everything seems a little more brighter. I know that sounds corny and you've probably heard it a million times, but its true! When you smile, people become more comfortable around you because you appear to be friendly, then when they talk to you, they find out that you are! =)

I am glad for you that you have led a life of happiness. Unfortunately, not everyone is the same as you. But it is good that you do not blame them. All you can do is to continue to keep on your smile and hopefully infect people positively! ;-)

Yes, I feel bad for those who have a hard time. I have some friends that tell me I'm he only one they can talk to. That breaks my heart. I know of a few suicude cases where a kid killed themself because they couldn't find a freind. That is one reason that drives me to be the nice person. I can't do it everyday of course, but I try. If I can keep one person from feeling lonely, then that is all the better. =)

I too am in a good mood most of the time. Life is too short to be negative, harmful, lying, conniving etc. Be careful though passive agreessiveness can be under a pleasant mask. We must be true to ourselves. We have had some real stuggles through the last 3 summers and it has not always been easy to smile and be pleasant. It was easier most of the time to be upbeat and working outside the home helped me the most. Being in the service industry also made me be more positive while I had been going through the things I have. It really helped. Manners and dirty looks? I would expect the dirty look for non polite behavior. I usually say something to my kids about how they didn't even acknowledge that they bumped into me. I use it to teach them how they should have handled it. No one has said anything to me yet. Too bad. Maybe it helped elsewhere.

I too get told that I am alwasy smiling. Happiness is a choice. We can make the choice to be happy or to be cranky. I choose to be happy. It sure makes the day go by better and reduces stress. I am glad that you are happy all the time.

Thats a cute concept. They say smiling/laughing is contagious. I've found it to be true.
