What kind of diets work for you?

I'm trying to lose 20 lbs. Which diets have you done, and which one worked the best for you?

I personaly lost 100 lbs on the atkins diet it allows you to eat but only certain foods i found it easy to do and am still following it to a great extent!

Oh wow!!! 100 lbs?? Over how long? That is crazy! Congratulations on losing 100 lbs! I should probably try this diet.. =)

I use the EAT PROPERLY diet ^_^ I eat fresh veg as much as i can and lots of fish in my diet. It isn't hard because i adore them both. I also take suppliments for things i got get enough of. Exercise wise i run round as much as i can at work and at home i lift weights and do little things like two steps up the stairs. What are you portions sizes like. Eat off a smaller sized plate and dont pile it up! Also 5 small meals a day are better than 3 big meals (but be carefull not to end up eating more!) Also eat more filling foods such as wholemeal bread, fish, oats, even popcorn!!! (its low cal and its yummy!) that way you wont feel as hungry after you eat another tip, eat slowly! It takes time for you brain to get the signal your full. And of course plenty of exersise, did you know people who fidget tend to be thinner because fidgiting burns calories. So if your sat at a desk, bounce your feet about, twist on the chair, stay moving as much as possible. I hope these little tips help. Its not a direct diet but they all aid your goal!

This is exactly what I am trying to do now.. Just watch what I eat.. I mean, I still eat everything, but just less on food with too much fat.. I drink water rather than drinking juice or soda.. I haven't tried eating 5 times on smaller portion instead of 2 times, though.. Does snacking count? Hee hee.. Do you schedule your eating? Like, breakfast at 9, lunch at 12, snack at 3, etc?? I exercise every now and then, too.. Walk around everywhere, too.. I hate gyms, so I try to walk around more..well, I do gym every-so-often, too, though.. This first week, I haven't got anything impressive..though I do not expect any miraculous weight lost.. Just wanna start living healthy... Well, maybe my body is still adjusting.. =) Thanks for your tips!!

Atkins does work and fairly quickly, but it's hard to stay on and when you start to eat "normally" again, it's easy to gain it back. I know I did Weight Watchers a few years back and lost almost 20 lbs. Can't remember how long...I believe I averaged around 2 lbs a weeks so probably 2 months or so. WEight Watchers is really easy..you can eat anything you want as long as you count points. Now, they have some other sort of system, too besides the point system. You can even do it online if you don't want to go to the meetings. It's not too bad.

Awesome. Yeah, I want to have a long-term healthy weight. I don't want crazy miraculous diet that can lose me 10 lbs a week. =) I just want to be healthy, no body image obsession.. Haha.. Thanks for the recommendation.. I will definitely try to find out more about it!
