He will have the power the Dark Lord knows not.... - The prophecy involving Voldemort and ?Harry DD has indicated at a lot of places that Power of Love is much more than the power of Evil. Following are the excerpts from the book 6 since i've just finished re-reading book 6 and collected clues from it. Voldemort and DD when V came to ask for job at hog "I have experimented; I have pushed the boundaries of magic further, perhaps, than they have ever been pushed —" "Of some kinds of magic," Dumbledore corrected him quietly. "Of some. Of others, you remain . . . forgive me . . . woefully ignorant." For the first time, Voldemort smiled. It was a taut leer, an evil thing, more threatening than a look of rage. "The old argument," he said softly. "But nothing I have seen in the world has supported your famous pronouncements that love is more powerful than my kind of magic, Dumbledore." Harry and Dumby while discussing about horcruxes "So, when the prophecy says that I'll have 'power the Dark Lord knows not,' it just means — love?" asked Harry, feeling a little let down. "Yes — just love," said Dumbledore. "You are protected, in short, by your ability to love!" said Dum-bledore loudly. "The only protection that can possibly work against the lure of power like Voldemort's! In spite of all the temptation you have endured, all the suffering, you remain pure of heart, just as pure as you were at the age of eleven, when you stared into a mir-ror that reflected your heart's desire, and it showed you only the way to thwart Lord Voldemort, and not immortality or riches. Harry, have you any idea how few wizards could have seen what you saw in that mirror? Voldemort should have known then what he was dealing with, but he did not! But he knows it now. You have flitted into Lord Voldemort's mind without damage to yourself, but he cannot possess you with-out enduring mortal agony, as he discovered in the Ministry. I do not think he understands why, Harry, but then, he was in such a hurry to mutilate his own soul, he never paused to understand the incomparable power of a soul that is untarnished and whole." At the concealed door Which was to open by giving blood: "The idea, as I am sure you will have gathered, is that your enemy must weaken him or herself to enter. Once again, Lord Voldemort fails to grasp that there are much more terrible things than physical injury." again while discussing horcruxes "But I haven't got uncommon skill and power," said Harry, be-fore he could stop himself. "Yes, you have," said Dumbledore firmly. "You have a power that Voldemort has never had. You can —" "I know!" said Harry impatiently. "I can love!" It was only with difficulty that he stopped himself adding, "Big deal!" "Yes, Harry, you can love," said Dumbledore, who looked as though he knew perfectly well what Harry had just refrained from saying. "Which, given everything that has happened to you, is a great and remarkable thing. You are still too young to understand how unusual you are, Harry." With so many clues (above mentioned and many more) that love is important in book 6 only (other books mentioning it equally important) several points come out. 1. did DD give his life to save harry and put a protective cover on him? the cover of love his mother put over him. since DD had an option to live. if he wanted, noone in this world could have killed him. (remember DD gave his guards to immobilize harry and giving away his guards. 2. If it is only love that harry has which would vanquish voldemort, then him loving ginny is really important to the plot. even may be Ron and Hermione loving each other. 3. if DD has provided protective cover on harry, he has done that without anyone noticing. and since now Voldy has Harry's blood that includes harry's mother's protection, then now DD has added his protection which voldemort is lacking When fetching fake horcrux while at the concealed door giving his blood, when harry offers to give his blood being young, DD says: "You are very kind, Harry, But your blood is worth more than mine" while drinking the green potion, "Why can't I drink the potion instead?" asked Harry desperately. "Because I am much older, much cleverer, and much less valuable," Why is dumbledore considering him less valueable than harry... may be because he is preparing harry for his own death. and this death must be significant to provide harry another cover of love. and then when harry takes dumbledore outside of cave and asks him not to worry, then DD says: "I am not worried, Harry," said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. "I am with you." what is it that dumbledore feels that being with harry means no worrying. This obviously is the fact that Harry feels love towards DD and for this love, DD is even ready to give his life. (also that harry is safe from the cave). please note that harry now decides to work alone. remember his decision where he even wants to leave ginny behind... (except the fact that Hermione and ron decide to follow him). but i personally don't think that ginny would in any way be left behind. whether she likes it or not. she would definitely be brought in the battle. either her own will or by voldemort. her love with harry is too much important to the plot. since love is the only power needed to vanquish the dark lord and which he knows not. if there is no ginny, harry also leaves love behind coz all his loved ones have been left behind that includes the dead ones (DD, sirius, his parents) or the alive ones (Arthur, molly (who he considers as good as parents), ginny etc) so for love to be important, it is also imp that ginny is with him. apart from that, there is a locked room at the ministry which apparently contains the most powerful power - "Love"

i'm very imperessd with ur guesswork. u put a lot of effort. i think that probably u r right about the cover that dumbeldore gave him. but i don't think that leaving ginny behind will mean leaving love behind. remember that when voldemort was possesing harry, harry just thought of ron n hermione n voldemort had to leave him. means it is not necssary that love should be present physically. even if he leaves everyone behind, he'll still love them n that he will always have the power to love
