It's 1 in the morning, what do you do?

Have you ever been sitting at the computer at 1 in the morning and suddenly you are craving ice cream? There is none in your freezer, but you know Walmart is open 24 hours a day. Do you get dressed and go or fight off the craving? I can remember about 4 years ago, I had gone to the mall and on my way home, I passed Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, the smell was so delightful, but I kept going. I got home and told Bishop, man those doughnuts just smelled so good, it made me want one and a cold glass of milk. We put a movie in and sat to watch it, but all I could think about were doughnuts and milk. It got later and later and I could still smell them. We went to bed and I dreamed of those darned doughnuts. Before I knew it, I was in my car driving toward Krispy Kreme. Poor Bishop was wondering why he had to go with me lol...but we both enjoyed those fresh made doughnuts and that ice cold milk! Sometimes I get cravings so bad, I can't think of anything else, so I have to go, I just have to.

Now, that is some bad cravings lol. I don't usually crave that late at night. If I did I would just let it go, fight the urge. I haven't had a Kripy Kreme Donut for about a year. I go by there and think mmmmmmm I want one but I fight the craving. Most craving I fight these days. The weight just plops on and on. One time Traci and I went to the ER on base here, and after that we did go to Krispy Kreme. I think it was around 1 or 2 am. Not something she needed with a galbladder attack lol but, at the time we didn't know it was.

ok, when you say the base here, are you talking about HERE here? I mean, is there a Krispy Kreme around here that I don't know about? lol Come on what gives? You holding out on me? Is Traci holding out on me? OH WAIT! I just realized I can go on base to the shopette and get some! woohoo!! See, ever since I started this discussion, I have been craving it lol.

LOL Mom we were at the OB and it was at 3/4am. Those freaken donuts left me on your couch for a few days. Dang gallbladder. Reese that was back at Ft Lewis. The nearest Krispy Creme is in Savannah on the left hand side heading towards best buy. Otherwise you can get them in the shopette here. Though I rather have a cinnabon at the PX. LOL

I have cravings late at night for Taco Bell salads. Sometimes I crave cake and cookies when I know it's too late to go out. I've made a couple of trips to the store at 1am!

Cravings...chocolate and ice cream...but of them. I actually talked to someone today who threw out some chocolate...cause it was stale! I can't imagine - when I start craving chocolate, I eat it! To have it go stale - is sinful. Never dreamt about donuts.

I've never had cravings that bad except when i have been pregnant and then there is the 'I must have' feeling about certain foods. A friend of mine had to have sugar puffs all through her pregnancy, she even had to take them to work.

When I was pregnant, I really didn't crave, it was kind of the opposite, the things I normally loved made me sick.

I am a lazy guy, I will not going to the extend of getting dress and drive out to get the food. I will go straight to bed hungry or call for delivery, MacDonald in my country provide 24hrs delivery, but that is going to be sinful to have a MacDonald meal before going to bed....

Those kind of cravings are just the WORST, when they get into your brain and just won't get out! I haven't had one so bad that it warranted venturing out at 1 a.m. since I was pregnant though, and then it was more a matter of guilting my dear sweet husband to go out and get it for me. :) Thankfully, my cravings tend to come on late but not *horribly* late these days - 9 or 10 p.m. - and I do sometimes indulge them. More often than I should. I need to cut back...

They really can be bad, that night with the donuts was just horrible, I was dreaming about them, good thing I didn't take a bite out of my pillow.

I used to stay until the next morning at one twice, but some time I don’t feel eating any thing, but sometimes I felt hungry and found chocolate cookies in the refrigerator. I had had it.

Start learning some self control, dear. Not everything you crave for should take over your behavior and way of thinking.

At 1 in the morning, I'm still working here in the office because my workshift starts at 10pm. Usually, when it's dawn, one will tend to get hungry especially this time. Unfortunately, my break falls at 2am. Good for you guys that out there who are just there sitting in your couch, watching movies, eating what you are craving, while I'm here doing my job at work and of course, busy at mylot. lol

Yes, Bishop is my husband and the love of my life. Thanks for asking. I can usually fight them off, but not those donuts that night, they took hold of me and would not let go.

Kinda funny story :P I never left my home that way, I could end up crashing my car or being robbed :P But hey, I would go with my partner to buy anything she wants if she was pregnant, you know what they say, if she desires a cube of ice while she's pregnant, you won't want your kid to born with a cube of ice face ...

I wouldn't go to Wal-Mart immediately since there is a truckstop that is much closer to me than Wal-Mart, but I would probably break down and eventually cave in. :) I would fight it for a bit with every logical argument I have, a waste of gas, on a budget, ect. but in the end if the craving was that bad I'd probably cave.

I'm forced to fight off any such cravings as in France almost all shops are closed during the night. The few shops that are open never sell what I'd crave for.

Typically, when I find something to be enticing, it's not food but the prospect of walking at night alongside a nearby road to some such destination. Usually I find myself walking down that road a few minutes later, heading west to the Krogers nearly five miles further along. When I arrive, I find I am satisfied to do nothing more than think and experience at least some idea of activity going on around me. I suppose I'm strange like that, with no tangible item to go after save the experience itself.

WOW, I will have to visit your town sometime if you can walk safely at night like that! At least you enjoy the experience.
