Everyone knows that WD-40(r) is the 'miracle product' that's useful for so many things, and I'm curious to see how many uses people have found for it, beyond the 'expected' ones. For example, I learned that WD-40 works very well as a cleaner/polisher for painted surfaces, including fading car paint. It works especially well on 'clear-coated' finishes (and does not seem to harm th finish).
I'm not encouraging everyone to run out and slather it all over the new SUV out in the garage, but I've used it on some of my 'older', fading-paint cars, and wow! What a difference it can make. The process is simple.
-Wash the car with soap & water; hand dry or wait until dry.
-Spray a small amount of WD-40 on a small area first, to test.
-Rub in circular motion with soft, dry cloth until no longer 'greasy' looking.
Repeat over car surface until done.

It's very good at killing bugs. My dad used to amuse my sister with this when we were kids as she was scared.

There's a new 'miracle product' being sold at the local auto stores that is supposed to clean the car's headlights. It's about $20. But, according to the guys at work, it's just WD-40 on a fancy bottle.
I think I should try it on my van, as clear plastic that protects the headlights are so blurry already.
