What Is Your Dream?

I have a lot of dreams. One is to get my publishing and merchandising business off the ground and one is to build my hotels. This morning after a neighbor told me she was leaving to go to a shelter because she couldn't pay rent and told me that it wasn't the first time she'd been in that shelter, my heart broke. Six months ago I was laid off and have been trying to find a job and have been on the verge of eviction a couple of times. Since I have been evicted twice in the past ten and a half years after losing a business and then being laid off, the idea of going through that again is rather scary. I'm still looking for work but when my neighbor told me about her situation, it brought back memories but it also got me to thinking. There are a lot of women, especially single women, who are struggling and there just isn't much of any help out there. People don't think that the situation with illegal immigrants is a big deal and our government doesn't seem to think it's a big deal to allow companies to outsource work to people in other countries but both situations are costing hard working American citizens their jobs and putting them at risk financially. Yesterday, I heard about how Vonage quit using their American based employees in favor of employees in the Phillipines (sp?). CompUSA is also closing stores in Southern California, which mean we are going to have that many more people trying to get the few jobs that are out there. It's time for things to change. I'm not sure how but maybe you guys can give me some feedback since I want to start an organization to help single women who are trying to get work and need help in the interim. Not just temporary help, though, but help to give the women something long term and help them to realize their dreams. I'm not sure how to do this yet, so I could really use your input. Thanks in advance.

I'm not really sure how to stop companies from laying people off for those reasons..I wish I did. I have quite a few dreams too, heh ^_^ one of them is getting my book (which is published) distributed so that I can start publishing and distributing..not to mention to write the rest of my books. Another dream of mine is to become a Private Investigator..which so far I have some progress toward getting that during/right after college. I'd like to do other things too on the side, like selling things..either things I make (clay figurines, photographs, paintings, clothing, stuffed toys) or just regular ol' stuff lol..but those are my two main things, investigating and writing. It seems like alot of folks have big dreams ^_^ and I've been working at this stuff for years so, my only advice to people hoping to succeed with their dreams is to never give up..somewhere, somehow if we keep trying we'll make it. It'll never be easy, but as long as we keep trying to find a way.. It's really sad about the companies though..but all they usually focus on is money and not about their employees which support them. If we could cure corruption it'd probably go better. There's a way though, we just have to figure it out. It'd be cool if someone just popped up one o these days with some new innovative idea, that'd fix the whole employment problem..but yeah, it's only a matter of time 'fore someone figures out how to fix it I guess.
