In the days when I was working, I never took a sick day unless I was actually sick. Then sometimes I would go into work and if I didn't feel better after a few hours, would go home. Apart from my job (Personnel & IR Manager), I think that taking sickies just for the sake of it is not good because one day you might really get sick, and have no sick entitlement to fall back on.
In addition, everyone who take a sick day on a Monday is immediately suspect. The same applies to a Friday, because employers tend to think that the person just wanted a long weekend.

I agree with you ,i never really worked but when i did i only took sick days if i was really sick and i mean once i had a punctured lung and another time i hurt my back and was unable to walk for 4 months and ended up wearing a brace for about 3or 4 years.

Even if I planned on pretending to be sick, which isn't often, it wouldn't be on a Monday.
I work in sales and Mondays are the days I make the most money. I would only be cheating myself.
