Which one is better AMD or INTEL

So which one is good, AMD or INTEL. When i talk about this i specifically mean the low budget PC's.
As far as hi end PC's go the intel Core 2 Duo Extreme and the Quad core processors rock. But the concern here is the common people who can not afford to have such expensive gems.
Any suggestions hun......

hey hi , I think AMD is best for gaming and multimedia if you are into programming then Intel is the best. I used to have Pentium III 3-4yrs back and it was good but now I'm into AMD Athlon.Of course, new processors such as AMD 64 Dual core and quad core are into the market. Well we can't compare both they both have their own advantages and disadvantages ..

Ok, But i think that Intel has taken over AMD. AMD has dominated the market for 3 years. Even in gaming. But those are really expensive ones. AMD is what i think i will stick to.

See your pc is needed for doing what :
AMD : most are for gaming, and x64 bit system
Intel : Editing video or documents works may be better
Well Core2 Duo Extreme is a really good processor bit the price are not cheap. So duo core2 is good enough.

Well AMD's do perform with gaming well because of their architecture. I have even heard of the core 2 duo performing better than the AMD. Making the type of application a base to determine which platform we choose is..

intel is better tha amd................i prefer intel mostly people first choice is intel when they purchase pcs......................intel is forever........

Ok, so finally I got an intel fan. I have been receiving responses that say AMD is better. But something tells me i should wait before i assemble my new PC. Could you tell me advantages of intel over the AMD.

INTEL and AMD can't be compared as a whole if you want to be fair go on a product to product basis. For example Core 2 Duo is better than AMD X2 but AMD X2 is far better than Pentium D, Its way ahead and amzaingly is still cheaper than pentium D. Also the new breed of AMD Processors are lot cooler than the Intel Ones.
Also Intel CPUs are priced higher than what they deserve, just because og the goodwill that Intel has created for itself.
One fact that i would like to bring in notice is that AMD has never been criticised for processing power it has been criticised for its heating problem which now has been resolved.
Therefore common people looking for dual core should go for AMD X2 in my view and to confirm my point you can browse the net and read the professional reviews that are all over the net.

I haven't used an AMD yet and all my friends brag that AMD is better, I have used intel since day one and have NO complaints at all, so I am going with Intel

in my word intel is the better . i always prefer this to my friends and also to me .
