Hi all, here is my tried and true smoothie recipe. It's really great. It tastes good and takes the edge off when I need a snack but don't want to run my sugar out of the roof. It also has a lot of bulk and will fill you up for a long time. Ingredients:1 can Sierra Mist Free 2-3 packets Splenda, depending on how sweet you like it 1 vanilla flavored low-fat or fat free yogurt (blue bunny) Approx. 3/4 cup frozen strawberries Approx 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries-or whatever mix of berries you can find) 1 tsp. psyllium husk seeds (you can find this at the health food store) Follow these instructions in this order, and you'll have a great smoothie:Put about half of the Sierra Mist in the blender Add the splenda (it will fizz a little, but that's okay) Add the yogurt and blend well Start adding strawberries, about 3 at a time, blending well after each addition If needed, add a little more Sierra Mist as you go so you don't clog up the blender with the frozen strawberries After the strawberries start adding the berries and blend well after each addition. Blend until really smooth. This makes enough to share with a friend- or you could just plop yourself down into your favorite chair and drink it all!I hope you like this recipe- I have one about every day for breakfast and just love it. Or you, could have some for breakfast and save a little for your mid-morning snack. Whatever! Enjoy!
