Yes it might seem cruel and meaningless, but it is nature of the beast. It is just like in the wild with bigger animals killing smaller ones for food. It is no different. There are many vegetarians in this world, and I don't have a problem with that. I just don't understand how when we kill animals for food how that is different than animals killing animals for food. If you think about it, humans are animals too.

I could never eat anything that was once alive is to so cruel for us to do that as we have no need to eat them in order for us to live a full life with a balanced diet. I think if more people thought about what they were really eating then there would be a lot more vegetarians around.

Those chicken you saw in the market are not natural. They are produced by man to trade.

It is a good thing to be vegetarian.I did try once but because i was borderline anaemic i fainted and the docs told me i needed meat. Maybe as i get stronger with the tai ji and i have more time and money i will be able to study about vegetarian and vegan diets and see if i can try again. If i could i would choose it as an option definately.

to remain a vegetarian or not is a matter of ones choice. i am a strict vegetarian and by the way never been to meat shop or closely watched that poor hen being chopped off mercilessly to relish their desires. ofcourse those hens do have right to live but the ecological balance needs to be maintained at the sametime.
