Keeping promises...!

yes i am very particular to keep my promises, and indeed its very important, if you dont keep your promises others will loose their trust, so its very important.

Honestly, I always try to keep my promises. My past life is full of broken promises. Now I have my own company, I keep my promises, but it seem quite hard because there are lot of factors that can make you break my promise. But I found one solution is to inform the person immediately whenever I can't make my promise and ask them some time. It works.

Shilpaum, I normally do not make any promise, if I know I am not going to fulfill it. I only make a promise, if I see that there is a possibility of executing the promise. It is said that 'promise breaker is a shoe-maker". I am very particular about makig a promise, I know if I am not going to keep a promise, made to someone, I am going to lose his/her confidence in future, If I break a promise, the other fellow is not going to rely on me, I do not want to be termed as a 'cheater' because I could not keep my promise. I want my friends to rely on me. In the exceptional circumstances, if I fail to keep my promise, I try to inform the other person of the factual position, in advance. By the way do you make promise and if you make it, do you keep your promise???? To the point reply will be appreciated by me.

I think that if we promise to do something .. we should really keep our word . I never promise to do something unless i`m 100 % sure i can do it . If i hesitate .. i say i`ll do my best .. but i can`t promise .. so i won`t let down anybody .. and i think this is what we all should do .. be sure we can do something .. and only after that .. give our word to someone .

Keeping a promise is like keeping the person's trust & faith to yourself.Keeping promises for real is like keeping the friendhip or relationship so in most cases i do keep promises and valued it a lot though how small may it seems, but sad to say for some promises are made to be broken just like what happen to my first love :) i guess i could consider it first love,hhhhmmmmm:)that was 16 years ago:) we promise to love each other inspite of long distance love affair but sad to say and it really hurts me knowing he just got married with another girl.He never kept his promise, that hurts me badly but i was now able to accept it now and was able to move on with my life.

I try, I try, I try. Really! It also depends on the frame of mind when I made the promise. If I REALLY promise something, I will keep to it. That's why I am very wary about making promises - because if I give a promise, I will usually make sure it is kept to. That's why I don't like making promises too. :P

Generally i do not promise anyone too much because promise some time do not fulfill.

Keeping a promise thats important! I always make sure that i keep my promises and thats very important cuz thats the very point making it.lol. And also its turns me off if others don't live up to their promises.

I mostly don't make any promises, because I know my opinions change every minute....lol. If I make any promises to others , then I try to keep them. But if I make any promises to myself.....I can never keep them. This is why when someone tells me what is your resolution for the new year.......I just laugh. Seriously , I would say don't make promises , if you cannot keep them. But if you once made a serious promise or commitment, then you should try to keep your words. So think before you make a promise. I would not make any, because I am weak person.

I lie only to enemies and bad people lol. I'll pretty much keep my word to people I care about. It's pointless to be honest to people who wanna kill you or hurt you I think..unless it helps your situation somehow. If you have to lie to get the better of him, do it. But lying to people you love..well..I cross the line there. I'm pretty honest these days, keep my promises, but there's exceptions to every rule. So..*shrugs*

Actually I never promise or commit to anything unless I am confident that I can do it. So actually it is a very very rare thing I do. Because I try to do things without making a promise. The reason is I really respect and give more value to promises so if I do then I should/will make it up with that.

I only promise those, which I think, I can fullfill. I am very serious about promising anything to others. If I give any promise I try my heart out to fulfill it. Till I am done, I cant have a peace of mind. Let me tell you that there are lot of people who promise big and big things to others and later fall out of it.

Hi, Actually I don't have taught about a thing like that at all . But when I recalled I am not that much kept promises but tried to keep maximum to keep. Any how I don't even have promised a big ones to any body so that if I don;t keep it that will hurt them. Some simple words that may vary .Like I have promised to reach some place by some time but not able to reach in time.Any how From now I will seriously think about it & try to keep promised at lest try to not give any promises which I cant keep.

When I gave promise to anyone I'm trying my best to fulfill it. Whether its a short term or a long term promise. But no matter how hard I try, how committed I am there are still some promise that I failed to fulfill - only proves to me that promises is made to be broken, sometimes.. :)

Yes I keep my promises. I don't promise anything if I don't really intend to do it. Broken promises are upsetting.

I rarely kept promises that I made to anyone, either small one or big. But I slowly realized that when you dont keep your promises your family and friends become a bit indefferent to you. They start believeng you less and less. I have felt that in my life. So, I started to make an effort to keep my promises and the results very good. Even now also I couldnt fulfill all my promises but I am trying to. So, keep trying to fulfill your promises and if you cant dont make any promises.
