I always wanted to have recipes which were handed down from generation to generation, unfortuantely, I seem to be the only one in the family who loves cooking.
Does you family have a recipe which has been handed down, if its not a secret what is it and what is so special about it?

My mom and grandmom are great cooks but never shared many of their recipes until a year ago. I like to make up my own recipes to hand down to my girls. Plus, the recipes I like are a lot healthier than what my family makes!

Eventually I will hand my recipe book to my son, providing he enjoys cooking like me, if not then I will search through my nieces and nephews.

My mother's side has a recipe for pumpkin roll that has been handed down through at least 4 generations that I know of..everyone enjoys it and it only gets made at the holidays. On my father's side, there are some, but I have an aunt that has them all and his side of the family does not tend to get together too much. I do know that there are a variety of pickle and doughnut recipes that we used to eat as a kid from my father's side of the family. You reminded me that I need to look into that...Thanks !

You should put a family recipe book together, sounds like your family has lots of tasty meals.
