Superstar, we Filipinos call Nora Aunor. She is, after all, a multi-media phenomenon whose achievements are unparalled in scope: film, music, television, theater. Truly iconic in stature, this wisp of a woman has loomed large in the national consciousness after her meteoric rise to fame in a classic rags-to-riches story. Her awesome artistry is matched only by her iconoclastic streak that made her magnet for controversies. Through it all, she has endured with a survivor's grit and grace. Nora Aunor has amassed a trove of local and international awards for her lifetime's work. No less than the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) cited her among the 100 recipients of the Centennial Honors for the Arts awarded to those who have enriched the country's culture and the arts in the 20th century.

I certainly agree with you. I admire her indomitable spirit to stand-out tall despite some mistakes along her way.
