How do some of us come up with there discussions? Do you just type something ramdom or do you put some thought into what you would like others to read and respoce too? I find that sometimes people just put alot of air on here and complain when they do not get responces. I like this and love getting involved with some of your discussions. Some people have great things that i have never thought of. How long do you spend on yours?

I try to put some thought into the discussions that I start. I also try not to start something that somebody else has done, but I find that hard to do becasue there are so many people on here. Sometimes you will see discussions that are very simialr. I try to post a couple a day, but its hard because I try to think of something good, but like I said before, sometimes you just happen to run across several discussions that are similar.

I just have thoughts that I start discussions with. Like the lyrics to the song I asked if anyone could name that group. It is an unusual song that most wouldnt know, or so I thought. Then, when I got the correct response, I thought....way cool.
I have discussed losing a child. My 23 year old son, in a tragic car accident. It depresses people so I am straying away from that.
Dont worry though, I will have many more discussions....perhaps politics will be the next.

I only create discussions worth replying to. My only flaw is that very few people in myLot are sports fans, at least of the teams that I support, and the most debatable discussions I have created that have not already been done over and over in myLot are Sports related.
I think the best one I ever made has only ever had 1 response. It's asking if anybody has ever dominated any sport the way Wayne Gretzky has dominated hockey.

For me, I try to find interesting topics. If people don't respond to my discussions, I don't blame them. After all, you can't force someone to answer something he has no interest in.
Quite a bit depends on inspiration too. When I get inspired, I will write down the topics and post them later. I don't specifically sit there for x hours to think of what to say. It just comes. ;-)
