Have you ever had a brush with death?

I've come close about 3 times to taking the 'big sleep.' I had a horrific accident once while training on my triathlon bike and was fortunate to only be knocked out and break a collar bone. Had I fallen the other way into traffic, it would have been game over. Once after a long hard week of work out of town, I had a 2 hour drive home. It was very hot and I was tired and before I knew what happened, I was asleep at the wheel doing about 105 kph. I was fortunate that I was in the outside lane and drifted right, onto the shoulder and not into traffic. On our highway shoulders here, they put "rumble strips" that warn you that you are off the road. Not every road has them, but this one did and probably saved me, because they woke me up at the last possible second. Have you ever had a brush with death and actually felt lucky to still be alive?
