Do you ever feel 'distant' from people, even the one's that you're close to?

I Love my friends and family. but sometimes because I'm the only geek in the group, there seems to be some seperation or distance between me and them. Do you ever feel the same thing?

I do. Even though my friends accept me for who I am,and I have a wonderful girlfriend who Accepts me for who I am also,I can't help but feel different from everybody else.Most of my ideas and points of views are keptto myself becaus e I know nobody would understand me.

yes I think I have always been a little bit of the geek of the lot, I have a very different life than most of my friends and not having much family I often feel a little bit distant but then I like to be my own person so I am not all that unhappy about it...

There are times I just want to be left alone even from my near and dear ones as I need to concentrate on something important. Yes I do believe that every individual is alone at times though you may be surrounded by lots of people.
