How to make money at Helium.com

United States

Hey all, I know there is a lot of interest in this website, as a lot of people on mylot are avid writers and readers. And a lot of you would like another source of internet income. I've been a member of Helium for almost two months, and I can share what I've learned about how to make money there. The only thing I ask is that you allow me to refer you to the site. That way, when you start writing articles there I can make a little extra money, too. In return, I can tell you how I'm making several dollars a day there now, without writing more than an article a day. And it keeps going up... If you have a writing site that you would like to refer me to, I would also love to check out other opportunities out there. If you want to see what Helium is all about, go to my profile and click on "My Website".

AC can take awhile Tacoman. Sometimes longer than 5 or 6 days, but they will get back to you eventually. I submit everything I have on Helium to them, and they have published most of it while paying me $3-$6 for each article. It adds up much faster than Helium, and it's double dipping, which is good. Once you get published there, promote your articles because it helps you get rated, and more pay. What I mean about Helium is that if you're writing about the NCAA basketball Tournament, they are good because that kind of article only has a short shelf life, so cash in as much as you can while you can. I've made $23 on Helium in a month, and over $100 at AC in 3 weeks, with far fewer articles. So AC is better to me. And because most of my Helium articles have a short shelf life, they will not keep earning me money after this month. My goal is to start earning $100 or more per article.

Tacoman, have you ever heard of Triond? You can submit your work to them and they will find a publisher for it and then you get somtheing like 75% of the income they generate from your articles. They will not publish anything that has been previously published though, but they don't consider Helium as publishing, so you can submit helium stuff there. I just did and they published it in less than a day. If you have something on AC already though, they won't take it. If you want to try it out just go to triond.com Looks like a better deal than Helium, but I'll know better when my article starts earning something.

I am a helium writer too. I would like to know how to obtain the referral link for this site so that I can email to my friends. I hope you are making good earnings at helium too. Making a few dollars a day is good considering in one month, you'd probably be profiting 100++.

Appreciate your help. I think I will send one to one of my emails and then I can see what's my link. I do hope to earn just like you on helium. Right now, I only average a few cents daily. Still, I am glad because it helps me in my free lance writing.

It might encourage you to know that I didn't make more than a few cents a day either for awhile. Once you get a fair number of articles up, learn how to promote them, and get good articles on popular subjects rated, your earnings will go up. Plus, like you said, even if you don't make much money from it, you're still gaining writing experience.

Mike, thanks for the kind words. I actually have several articles pending with AC as we speak...how long does it usually take for them to be approved (or not)? They say 5 business days, and this is the 5th or 6th one since I submitted mine. Helium doesn't have the full rights to my articles, so I'm working to publish them elsewhere...including AC and Constant Content. I haven't tried to sell full rights to anyone but Suite101, who require it (which is why I'm wary of them...I've only published two articles with them so far, to see how much they earn).

I am so much tempted about helium, as I hear a lot about it here. But whenever I try to log in there, I get a message that they are still building up the site, presumably for people from different parts of the world. So, I just sent them my e-mail ID and am waiting for some news from them when my local area helium opens.

Helium has really picked up in the last month, revenues are on the up, I think that good articles are rewarded, and the opportunity to cross promote is also quite good. If anyone has good hints about getting your helium writing seen, drop me a line! Cheers.

Hi Tacoman25:) I know it's a little late (I'm always late for everything), but I wanted to say thank you for your response to my article about Helium. You gave a great response and I wish we were allowed to change the "best response" choice. Good luck on Helium! I wish you the best:)

I just started with Helium, so I don't have much going on there. It seems less serious to me than Associated Content...not sure if that is a fair assessment, but there seem to be a lot of opinions instead of more factual-based articles. This is easier writing in my opinion and would make a different outlet than AC. I do think the double-dipping idea is very wise. Trying to really make the most of your writing is a great idea.
