my pearl necklace

about 11 or 12 years ago i leant my pearl necklace to my mother. i never got it back. we kept getting into little arguments, not really fighting but i kept saying she still had it and never gave it back and she would get mad at me and tell me she doens't have it and she returned it. anyway today she stoped by and handed me my pearl necklace. she asked if it was mine that i had been looking for. what do you know. it was my necklace that she has been saying she doens't have for the last 12 years. i said do you have something to say to me. expecting an apology for yelling at me that she didn't have it. she said well it's been so long and i didn't know i had it. was an apology too much to ask or is it not necessary after 12 years? i'm glad i had it so i didn't say anything else but she talked down to me, again. i'm not going to bring it up again cause it's over but she just can't admit she was wrong.
