What do you think about the new Dove commercials?

I get email notices from OneMillionMoms.com about what they feel are objectionable things on tv or in commercials. There is a new commercial for Dove products using older women totally nude to advertise that "beauty has no age limit". OneMillionMoms feels the commercial is tasteless and that Dove could have gotten the point across without using nudity and s*xually themed images that focus on the vanity of outward beauty. Here is the link to the commercial. What do you think? http://www.doveproage.com/

I think those commercials are outstanding. They aren't sexually themed at all. They aren't parading these women around like the Hollywood starlets parade themselves around. Those are REAL women, with real flaws, and I think it's great to have reality like that on a commercial. They definately aren't focused on the vanity of outward beauty, if they were, they'd use the regular "beautiful" models that everyone else uses.

I love the commercials. I find them extremely tasteful and also societally important. In a culture that puts so much empahsis on beauty, body size and youth,I feel this is a powerful statement that beauty can be found in all sizes, ages, and body types. I think this is especially important for young girls to recognize.

There is nothing wrong the the body. The product is for making the body clean and helpig the skin be the best it can be (for a product) I think that they may be fussing about the non comforming idea of beauty in an older woman. Some people just need to look for things to complain about. Let the commercial be.

I have found all of the commrecials from dove lately to be done in poor taste. I just dont agree with the body being shown in commercials. I hate the Victoria secret Commercilas. In fact , turn the satelite off during these commercials. I give it long enough to be oven before I turn it back on.

I feel I'm a Christian, but all I want to say is THANK GOD!! Look, for SOOO long, we have been tuned to feel that if you wasn't a certain way or what have you, then you wasn't beautiful; I, for one, am in the age group of the women listed. I'm in my 40s and have no problem with it; They wasn't showing their "goodies"; they were naked, but it was tasteful. I liked it and don't see the point in getting mad on stuff like that; Now what I WILL get mad on is folks showing women in misogynistic videos and have them be airheads and such. or just objects. that I just don't like.

I agree 100%. It's about time they start showing real women. The women are covered, they're vagagay's (Oprah word) aren't showing and neither are any other parts. It's done tastefully and with quality.

I feel that the commercials are fantastic and actually portray what real beauty is. They actually had one of the try out models on Oprah not so long ago talking about why she tried out, etc. Just like many of us, the model wanted to send out a positive message to women everywhere about what real beauty is, it's not about hiding wrinkles or airbrushing. I suppose with every situation there is always some who disagree but I would imagine that the majority of people would agree with these commercials..

I say hurray for Dove! It's much more realistic than young women in late teens or early twenties in their panties that have years to go before they think of cellulite, stretch marks, wrinkles or extra pounds! I applaud Dove for taking a bold, and still somewhat risky, marketing approach!

I think the point of the Dove commercials is to show that every woman is beautiful, no matter the age, or shape, or race. There are so many things out there nowadays that focus on women looking a "certain" way that Dove is trying to show that ALL women are beautiful, no matter if they fit the mold or not. I think the commercials are done tastefully and I'm happy to see women portrayed in such a beautiful and accepting manner! Not to mention, the commercials show no more skin than Paris Hilton does, and we see so much more of her on T.V!

I like them. I don't have to be afraid of growing older. Dove will always be there to help me look younger. They are a product that works. I have been using them for years.

The commercial is fine. It just shows that women even at that age can have a better look. It's a fact that every women should face when it reaches an age like that. It isn't meant to offend either and never meant to. The commercial is done perfectly well and without malice.

I love the dove campaign because they are showing how diverse women are. They are showing real women. I love this campaign because it celebrates all women young and mature. It great! I think their proage line is great. I will by dove any day. We are real women and our money matters and dove has figured it out.

I do think that it was going just a little too far. They would not have to be totally undressed to get their point across.

I think they are great, real women not top models and they don't reveal any specific parts, they did it in a real nice way and it does not seem vain to me. I like their real women adverts as they do not try to push super model looks onto you.

I think that the people that are saying that it is not tastefull and tacky and the other things are the same people that if these were paintings would see it as art. I personally think that it is nice that they started doing away with the models in their commercials. We have enough things in the media telling our daughters that you have to be a size 0 to "fit in" in the public eye.
