not exactly beating a wife is okey,, it depends on the situation, for example..if the wife is cheating on there husband and doing something bad that is unacceptable to our religion, because as a Muslim women, we must be conservative and has a fear and respect to our husband, next to god,, the Muslim men"s are very gentle and respect there wives,, if you say a word Muslim , it means that, the person has a fear to god, and gentle, he follow the commandments in our Qur'an,, and not absolutely beat his wife w/o heavy reason. don't judge in a simple sentence, if you try to understand it and think deeply on what is written there, you will realize how it being said...

i respect your relegion an your thought on this matter.an i agree a women should respect her husband.but i feel a woman should never be hit by a man.for any reason.i understand what you are saying.but you say a women have {fear} to their husband an be conservative.i dont think the women are getting treated fairly.but that something i cannot change.

yes, if you have a fear to your husband you can be conservative, you can avoid to have conversation to other man, that gives you temptation, to avoid cheating or to have affair with other man, which is prohibitted to muslim women, thats why the rule is being implimented by god to avoid sin and temptation because women have fear to there husband, and men must treat there wives rightfully,,, and another,,, a woman or a person can be beat by anyone even in other relegion if she or he commited a heavy sin or has a heavy reason... and even where in other places there are lots men being jailed becouse of beating there wives w/out heavy reason,,
