How do I make lots of money from Gardening and Fishing in Seasons?

I've been playing the Sims 2 Seasons on PC and have really gotten into the Fishing and Farming aspect of it. However, I can't seem to make a substantial living off it, and I wonder how other people are able to do so? I've read in posts how people have made their sims live solely off that, and they do well, yet I can never seem to make enough money through this to do that. Currently, my Sim has a silver badge in fishing, and a bronze badge in gardening (or maybe silver badge). She doesn't really make a whole lot and so I've had to get her a night job as a security guard to help bring in the cash. Any suggestions? I've also opened up a small shop and try to sell fruits, veggies, and fish using the Freezer from Open for Business. Thanks in advance!

Gardening: When you're harvesting, you have a choice to straight away sell them or keep in your inventory. If you want to charge more money for your goods, start a business and sell them but make sure you don't ignore your plantation's needs. Fishing: Chances of getting a fish is not that high when you first started. Plus the pond if pretty useless during winter. So get the whole family to pitch in and help to hook a winner! Again same as above, sell them and charge a higher price for it.
