I'd been to Seoul in 2006 during winter time. It was such a great experience for me as this is the first time where I get to experience White Christmas. Originally I am from Malaysia which is summer throughout the whole year. The currency used here is Won and 250 Won is roughly equal to RM1 (Malaysian Currency). The thing that I remembered most is the food here. Every meal that I took, there was KIMCHI, which is Korean favourite food. And the food in Korea is quite expensive. I remembered I spent 8000 Won just for my lunch. Although I am Malaysian, but I got to say that Korea is much more developed than Malaysia. The infrastructure are much more advanced than in Malaysia. An advice for those who want to go to Korea. It is a place worth of travelling. Affordable accomodation is easily available through internet.

You are very lucky to experience White Christmas. It's my dream to experience it eversince I am a child. But I'm losing hope already. :-( Seems it's my fate. Yes I heard that commodities are expensive there in Korea, and about kimchi, isn't it spicy? I'm not much into spicy food. I won't enjoy it. Have a good time there in Seoul Korea.

Kimchi is really spicy, not suitable for those who don't like spicy food. But it will be a good chance to taste it as kimchi is one of the world most healthy food. Don't lose hope, you never know what will happen in future. :)

yes marjonelle, do not lose hope. you seem to be still young so there is plenty of time. I am 47 and my son is in seoul for a year, teaching english and myself and my husband went out last week only for a week. It was a very long journey from Ireland but we really enjoyed it. It is a fantastic city, a mixture of new and old. there are high rise shopping malls and alongside them there are street stalls and lots and lots of food. All the food isnt spicy. There are lots of soupy dishes made from just water, veg and chicken or beef or pork. There are also western restaurants and pizza places etc. something for everyone. we didnt find it expensive to eat korean food but western food was expensive and even at that both of them are cheaper than what we would pay here in Ireland. It was the coldest week that they had in ages!!! and there was snow. I hate to be out in snow but it was nice to look at!! but bitterly cold, colder than I had ever experienced here.
