Do you throw a party every year for your child? How many children should you invite? We didn´t have a party for my son´s first birthday, but we probably will for his second, so any ideas would be appreciated.

We have had parties for my daughter and we only invited 2 or 3 kids for her 2nd and 3 birthday. Otherwise it was just adults. I read somewhere that they recommend onw child per age. So turning 3 then 3 kids. That way she was no over whelmed with too many kids and activities.

that sounds like a pretty good rule, thanks! And don´t worry about the spelling, my son is often on my lap while I type!

For my son's second birthday, we had way too many children, at my house. Next year, we will still have the same amount of kids, as they are all close friends, we will not have it at our home though. I think the worst of it, was that people thought, well it's baby proof, the kids will be fine, and they didn't watch their kids. Many of my son's toys got broken and kids were literally climbing the walls. it was horrible. I would do it at a nuetral location if you can, that way when you are done, the parents won't overstay their welcome, and you can leave the mess their! I really think it's much easier to do it that way when they are so young. Yes, you don't have the comforts of home, but then again you don't have to clean up after everyone else's kids, worry about thier sick germs infesting your child's toys, and worry about bored toddlers ruining your things. Whatever you do, have fun! They only turn 2 once, so enjoy it. (:

We have thrown a party for each of my two kids every year. My daughter has larger parties than my son. She is more into it. She is 9. We usually have about 30-40 kids and then the adults. Her parties usually average at about 40-60 people all together. It is a good $300-$500 party each year after all is said and done, but she has so much fun. It is worth it. My son is 4, and he has smaller parties, usually of about 20 people and the cost is down around $150-$200.

Wow! That is a lot of people to be entertaining! You must have a large house. I think I would only have about 4-5 kids and their moms over for my son´s birthday at this point. Not that we know a lot of people!

I've always been told to invite the number of children as the age of the child plus 1. My daughter turns 6 this spring, so we will be inviting 7 or less friends. Easier to handle this way. :) Before my children were in school we had a really informal birthday celebration with just grandparents and the kids' aunts and uncles. They get one party when they are in Kindergarten, and a sleepover (only 2 friends) for the years following. My oldest will turn 8 in a coupl weeks, and I haven't decided what to do for him. Sigh. Good luck with your party planning, and Happy Birthday to your little one!! :)

Since your son is only 2, I don't think he would have any friends yet - but if he has, you can try to invite them (with their parents of course). Usually when the child is young, the party would be more of a gathering for the adults - so you can either invite your friends and/or relatives too.

I love kids party. We have a party for my daughter's 1st birthday. And she had lots of fun because i invite lots of kids. We had spaghetti, fried chicken, cheese sticks and hotdogs for the kids. Also theres lots of balloons and a beautiful cake. It's so fun having kids birthday parties. But i'm not saying that it's needed to have a party, specially, you dont have the budget. What i've done if i dont have money, is that me and my daughter will go to the church to light a candle, to thank God for all of his blessings and goodness.
