Does anyone have a dog that has seizuures?

Our miniature dauschaund had a seizure last night in her cage and scared all of us really bad!! Does anyone else have a dog that has seizues? The vet said that it is fairly common in small dogs like this. I was so scared!

Our little mini dauschaund also has seizures every now and then. They usually last a couple minutes, and she is always a little dissoriented afterwords. I was told that it is very common with Dauschaunds because of there shape. When they jump of beds, or couches, etc it isn't good for there backs, and that is why they have seizures. So we try to pick her up whenever she wants up or down off something. It is very scary though when they do happen.

The vet told me that it was fairly common, but I didn't know that it could be caused by them jumoping although I knew that wasn't good for them.
Ours wasn't disoriented afterwards and was actually very playful. It was extremely scary for my kids and I. I am thankful that my husband was home to help me calm the kids down and the dog. She hasn't had any more that I know of since then.

Yes it is very scary indeed, we have doxies and yes one of them, the oldest has seizures. It is sadly common not just in little dogs but a lot in doxies.
